He
asked if Worton Park project has gone out for bid yet.
Mr. Cappello said it has not been bid yet; they plan on going out this Thursday.
They want to make sure any changes that have to be made due to the design we
choose on the drainage be made before we bid it. If we decide to culvert Worton
Park, we will have lower the sanitary sewer and now is the time to do it instead of
in the future. We just have to. decide what storm we will plan for. It is only
lowering it 1' or 18"
Mayor Rinker asked if he is talking a nominal cost potentially--is it mostly a design
consideration we are talking about.
Mr. Cappello said at the present time, yes. For the fact we want to put these culverts
in, we want to make sure that we have our sanitary sewer low enough.
Mayor Rinker said he would like to see the cost before we spec any of this further.
Council President Fixler said his understanding of this Issue II funding is that we
must do a certain amount of this project prior to the end of this year.
Mayor Rinker said no. Historically, you must have your funding application and
everything done within two years from the date it is approved. (From July 1st, 1995
to july 1st, 1997.) Typically, when a project is well underway, requests for
extensions, if reasonable--usually up to 6 months--are granted. We don't expect to
run into any timetable problem with that.
Mr. Brett said if we go with a 25-year storm, will there need to be any modifications?
