This open portion is limited to discussion <br />pertaining to the items under "Old Business" only. <br />There were no comments. <br />? <br />M NE"LI?INESS' <br />M Dry Weather Overflows - Mr. Cappello said 4 contractors placed proposals. They sent <br />Q the Village a letter with the contractors listed in the order they think they should be <br />z contacted in case of an emergency to any sanitary structures which would cause sewage <br />? to spill into streams. <br />Hvgrade Painting - Mr. Brett said this is the last contract on the Fire Station. <br />, <br />Council President Fixler asked if all the bugs have been worked out with the prevailing <br />wages. <br />Mr. Brett said there had been an objection from the painting union because there have <br />been some problems with the successful bidder. It was the recommendation of <br />construction manager to proceed. We will make sure to scrutinize their prevailing <br />wages more closely. <br />Chief Mohr said Mr. Dunlop said all is in order. Chief Mohr said he agrees to adding a <br />contingency regarding the prevailing wages. <br />Mayor Rinker said we can make it an express provision that this be resolved <br />satisfactorily per the recommendation of the Construction Manager and our Law <br />Department so that Council is secure in the knowledge that there is no question as to <br />the propriety of the work that is being done. The contingency would be strictly to that <br />specific issue [of prevailing wages]. <br />Rock Salt - Council President Fixler said they received information in their packets and <br />asked Mr. Amendola if he had information to share. <br />Mr. Amendola said we got our papers back from the State; we do have a price <br />quotation. If he understands it correctly, we still use the 60-40 percentage. <br />Mr. Brett said we are required by law to purchase 60% of our rock salt from the State <br />vendor.
