Regular Council Meeting <br />January 19,1998 <br />Page 6 <br />and he sweetened the pot to make sure the work got done. We had a lot of good <br />feedback from residen#s. <br />Mr. I-Jovaxtcsek said the leaves that were stockpiled on the tree lawn and the early <br />snowfall impacted the reseeding job. <br />Councii President Fixler said he thinlcs this was an unusual situation and Mayor Rinker <br />acted responsibly to get the work done. On the other hand, he thinks the contractor had <br />an obliga#ion to put the property bacic to its original condittion. <br />Mr. Buckholtz said the residents were vea y happy with the work. <br />Mayfield United Methodist Church - Reqtaest for a Meeting - Mayor Rinker said <br />Council received a letter from Reverend C»n?mings in their packets. The meeting is <br />predominantly to deal with areas of sale of the golf course. We have talked wifili the <br />Church to see what we can work out trading land #or building. The Church asked to <br />give a presentation. He is hopeful the Chuxch will be able to lay aut where they are <br />Coming from and where it plans to go. <br />Council President Fixler suggested the Church representatives come to a Caucus. <br />Mr. Busa said he thought the Church had requested to meet off site and to have <br />a combined meeting with P&Z. <br />A note to P&Z will be sent invi.ting them to the meeting. <br />OPEN PORTiON - 3 minute limit imposed by Chair. This open portion is limited to cli.scussion pertauung <br />to the items uncler "Old Busimss" only. <br />Fair Housing Legislation <br />Nlr. Diemert said he thinks we can pattern leg'rslation so it will work for us and not <br />cause an undue burden. <br />1VIr. Busa questioned the need to make a law to remin.d us of what we already know- <br />and suggested we not make any more laws for the benefit of makmg alaw. <br />Council Presadent Fixlex explained the Village has an opportunity to secuxe funds #hat <br />could be used for infrastructure. He thinks the Village should take advantage of this.
