Regular Council Meeting
9/28/98
Page 13
Council President Fixler said yes. It was moved to table and he wasn't going to bring it
back to the floor this evening unless the resident was present. Council President Fixler
said his feeling is that for Council to be able to consider a variance for a hardship, the
resident must be able to tell us what the hardship is.
Dr. Parker commented that Council is always receiving requests for shed variances and
we have the rule on the books that says 10'....
Council President Fixler said years ago the requirement wasn't 10 ; it was 5. When all the
lots were configured, sheds were allowed to be placed a lot closer to the property lines.
Since then, voters have changed that--and it is now 10'. Some of the #hings that were
done years ago aren't conducive to moving it 10' so we are receiving these variance
requests. We wouldn't be considering this if we were talking about new subdivisions.
Because these are older properties, there is often more of a hardship.
Mr. Busa asked for an update on the Church.
Council President Fixler said we met with them and they indicated their fellowship will
be voting on some kind of proposal on October 3`a. Until that is tallied up, we will know
nothing from them.
Mrs. Cinco said the asphalt emulsion project went smoothly and on time. She thanked
everyone.
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Dr. Parker, made a motion to adjourn.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None Motion Carried
The meeting adjourned. at 8:57 p.m.
