i
COMMISSION ON AGING/ HUMAN SERVICES
September 28, 1998
Flu Shot season is almost upon us! The first registration
session is Friday, October 2 from 9 to 11 a.m. The second registration
session is Wednesday, October 7 from 1 to 3 p.m. Both of these sign-up
sessions are in the Training Room of the Fire Department. The flu shots
will be administered Monday, October 26 from 9 to 11 a.m. in the
Community Room. The cost remains at $8 for anyone not on Medicare, PartB.
Our October 22nd trip to Circleville f.or the Pumpkin Festival
is filling up quickly. Non-residents' reservations will be processed
after Wednesday.
The Card Group is going very well. We are seeing 25 to 30
people each Tuesday.
Bocce is still meeting Thursday mornings. We will be
switching to a 1 p.m. starting time later in the month of October when
the morning temperatures are significantly cooler..
I attended a focus group meeting at Hillcrest Hospital last
week to provide input as to community services which they might provide
for seniors. Their transportatin for medical appointments in the area
has improved significantly. They now provide service to people east of
S.O.M. and on the north side of Highland Road. Basically, they will
transport people within a five mile radius of the hospital with a week
in advance reservation.
_ ~ /~ 4
c~ ~_ ~.
Eunice Kalina,
Director of Human Services
1
