Regular Council Meeting <br />11/16/98 <br />Page 4 <br />Third Reading of Ordinance 98-34. Note: The title of this legislation appeared incorrectly on <br />the agenda so Council will consider the third reading of Ordinance 98-34 at its next meeting. <br />OPEN PORTION - 3 minute limit imposed by Chair. Those who wish to speak must first state <br />their name and address. This open portion is limited to discussion pertaining to the items under <br />"Old Business" only. <br />There were no comments. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />A motion to authorize an expenditure in an amount not to exceed $25,000 to Nelson Auto <br />Group for the purchase of a 1999 Dodge 2500 pick-up truck for the Service Department <br />Mr. Marquardt, seconded by Mrs. Mills, made a motion to authorize an expenditure in an amount of <br />$25,000 to Nelson Auto Group. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Expenditure Authorized <br />A motion to authorize an expenditure in an amount not to exceed $25,000 to Boose Chevrolet <br />& GEO of Brookville Ohio for the purchase of a 1999 Chevrolet pick-up truck for the Fire <br />Department <br />Council President Fixler asked if a motion would be made or if this item was going to be tabled. <br />Mayor Rinker requested discussion. <br />Chief Mohr asked if Council had received his memo. <br />Council President Fixler said yes. <br />Mayor Rinker asked the issues. <br />Mr. Marquardt said the question brought up at Caucus was regarding the warranty. ~ He does not <br />know if that issue was resolved. They do not understand the need for the additional cost of the <br />Chevy truck. <br />Chief Mohr asked if the Fire Department mechanic, Ken Shrefler, could speak. <br />Firefighter Shrefler said he researched all the 4-wheel drive vehicles that would have suited our <br />needs. Not deviating from State bid, the Chevy was the only one that you could get all the features <br />on. You could get a Ford but you would have to have a separate purchase order and paperwork to <br />
