This open portion is limited to discussion pertaining to the items under
"New Business" only.
Council President Fixler asked if there were any comments from the audience.
Mar~Brondfield, 6794 Metro Park Drive, said she had a question that was actually under committee
reports. Regarding the sewer liaison committee--she would like to know if they met and what has
been done.
Mr. Buckholtz said they have not met as a committee. They will probably have a meeting the first of
the year.
Mrs. Brondfield said she had attended the October meeting and it was brought up that they were to
have a meeting.
Mr. Buckholtz said they decided to have a meeting and the residents of the Septic Homeowners
couldn't coordinate a meeting on the night they had scheduled, so he is looking to January for the
next meeting.
Mrs. Kalina, 469 Blueberry Circle -Eunice questioned what House Bi11803 was.
Mr. Brett said this is a bill that was initially put before the legislature to make uniform the municipal
income tax forms, collections, deadlines and whatnot. They went beyond their original charge and
are looking at things such as or eliminating or capping municipal income taxes where residents pay
taxes somewhere else. He believes the impact on the Village would not be that detrimental. We are
opposed to this because the Ohio Legislature is trying to dictate tax collections--especially in charter
communities where it is really not their business.
Mr. Diemert said it generally favors municipal income tax being geared and steered toward cities
with industrial populations and away from suburban areas.
Mrs. Kalina asked if we are making Village programs accessible to people with handicaps--if this
refers to the Community Room.
Mr. Diemert said we were in non-compliance in our administrative offices. Mr. Brett has been
negotiating with them to get a policy that is acceptable.
Mr. Brett explained there has been negotiation between the Village and the Justice Department. VGIe
have corrected the water fountain in the Community Room, otherwise we are talking about Village
Hall.

1
