Regular Council Meeting <br />9-27-99 <br />Page 5 <br />Mr. Samac said Progressive will be coming before us at Caucus for additional buildings on <br />Monday. <br />Chief Mohr asked Council's permission to make surplus the 1979 Horton ambulance which is <br />now deemed obsolete with the new ambulance in service. He would also like permission to go <br />out for- bid. He looked into the cost of shipping for the turnout gear;.the cost is $25 total for all. <br />Chief Mohr thanked the Service Department for allowing the Fire Department to utilize Gino <br />DeLuca and George Ballash to maintain the grounds. They have received a lot of compliments <br />on how well the grounds were maintained. <br />Mr. Brett said last Friday we sold 4 5 million dollars in bond anticipation notes. 4.1 was <br />earmarked for the rollover of the golf course acquisition notes; $200,000 was for the road and <br />another $200,000 is for the wetlands preserve. The rate we got was 4.00 with a premium that <br />brought the effective rate down to 3.9%. This is right in line with where the interest rates are. <br />He sees that as a successful sale. It was very competitive-and he thinks the Village did very well. <br />Mr. Thomas said on October 2 and October 9 we will start walk-in registration for our MBA <br />program. It is from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Mayfield Middle School. We encourage anyone <br />signing up for their 4~' - 8~' grade son or daughter to sign up at that time. He is working on an <br />executive brief for Council on the .Parkview Pool. He is attending the Cleveland State <br />Leadership Workshop with Councilwoman Mrs. Mills. <br />STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />Activities Committee -Mrs. Roman said the Activities Committee will be planning the Holiday <br />Tree Lighting Ceremony. We will meet sometime in October. A date will be set after we <br />determine when everyone is available to attend to recap the Summer events. <br />Architectural Review Board - Mr. Samac said the last meeting was September 9. There was one <br />agenda item, an addition to a residence. <br />Board of Appeals - Mr. Samac said there was no meeting. <br />Cemetery -Mrs. Mills thanked Mr. Metzung and his crew for their work. The driveway is <br />wonderful. The students of the horticulture center will start to work on the cemetery and the <br />Historical House around the beginning of October. <br />Citizen's Advisory Board -Mrs. Cinco said they did not meet this month. They are scheduled for <br />the end of October. They would like to be involved in the discussions for the Rt. 91 widening. <br />Commission on A~ - Mr. Busa read. Mrs. Kalina's report (attached to the minutes.) <br />SafetX and Service -Mrs. Cinco said they met September 13. They discussed and approved the <br />snow removal bids and jersey barricades which are on tonight's agenda. For the Police <br />Department, they discussed the 911 upgrade.
