?
15
Budget Appropriations
Mr. Toth said they are ma.king progress regarding the 1983 budget. Many
hours have been spent discussing the 1983 budget with the Mayor and
Department Heads. He thanked the Department Heads for.their efforts. The
budget appropriations will be discussed with the new Finance Committee.
.He said this year will be a tight year and the appropriations will be left
up to Council.
Petty and Grand Theft Legislation
Mr. Feneli reported the State Legislators.amended certain provisions of the
Ohio Revised Cod.e pertaining to offenses, to be effective January 5th. The
amounts for certain offenses were raised from $150.00 to $300.00 to commit a
felony. Our Codif ied Ordinances must comply with State.laws and must be
amended. Council received an ordinance to amend certain sections in the
General Offenses Code to comply with current law. _
Wilson Mills Road '
Ma.yor Beebe reported at a Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer.District Meeting it
was suggested that before the paving.is completed that various connections
of pipes be checked to be sure everything is in good shape.
Mr. Hovancsek explained the plans to reconstruct Wilson Mills from Richmond
Road to SOM Center. He also explained how the project would be funded, 75%
Federal and 25%.from license fee funding by the County. The Engineer is to
be paid proportionally by the.three communities involved. Mayfield Village's
share is about 35% of the total projecto
Discussion.was•held.- .
HUD .
Mayor Beebe said Mrs. Bloom's husband.is involved with this on a national basis
and offered his assist. HUD monies are only available every three years unless
the process can be speeded up by talking with someone in .Washington which Mayor
Beebe would like to do.
Mrs. Hanus said Council had previously determined they would not pursue the
issue of HUD funding. At that time Mayfield Village did not have a Senior
Citizen Commission on Aging.. However, there were other requirements we did
not meet to be able to receive HUD monies..
Mr. Spellman said several meetings were held in 1980 to discuss this matter.
At that time it was determined we did not want to be tied to the Federal
government.
Mayor Beebe said he was suggesting the matter be checked into because if we
do not pursue the matter our "share" of the monies could be given to other
communities. He said it is a Council decision. .
Mrs. Bloom said Mr. Bloom offered his assist and she feels it is worth looking
into.
