33
Senior Citizens Commission on Aging - Mr. Busa said the Commission is very
active. Everyone received a flyer of upcoming activities. The Finance
Director has allocated $500.00 to their budget. He said the Finance Committee
will hopefully allocate a large amount for this years expenditures.
Mr. Busa stated Mr. Amendola had received from Mayor Beebe a list of "Mayor's
Comments" to read at tonight's meeting. As Mr. Amendola was out of the room
at this time he asked the Clerk of Council to read the comments.
The Clerk of Council read the Mayor's Comments.
Regarding the Beech Hill Pumping malfunction, he questioned if the representatives
from Northeast Regional Sewer District were advised as they want to be notified
of malfunctions.
He asked that Mr. Feneli comment on the Board of Elections matter - seven
versus five Councilpeople, the Charter amendment and the vote of the people.
He recommends Council pass Ordinance 83-1 (waiver procedure). He also urges
Council to vote affirmatively on Ordinance 83-5 (authorized signatures on checks).
That would allow for five possible signatures on checks, in the event of the
absence of any three.
He suggested that Steve Blooms 1/31 letter re "Community Development Funding"
be circulated to Council and that thanks be expressed to Mr. Bloom for his
preparation.
Regarding Council Caucus of 2/7, he agrees fast action courses be applied to
matters discussed.
He feels we should pursue our share of cost for the resurfacing of White Road.
Labor and equipment furnished by the County would result in considerable
savings. We owe Willoughby Hills a reply on this ma.tter.
April "Voice of the Village" articles should be submitted no later than March 11.
He hopes fast action is taken on the many subjects Mr. Amendola has investigated
regarding Codified.Ordinance changes/additions, etc. Mr. Amendola can best
identify, by priority, the most urgently needed changes.
He expressed thanks to his secretary and Department. Heads for keeping him
apprised of important matters. He said if they had tried to pick the worst
possible weather conditions for their vacation they couldn't have equaled
what they have so far experienced;.rain and cold. He sent his best regards
to all.
Mr. Amendola reported he had just contacted a road grader and they will make
the temporary repairs on Beech Hill this week.
