?6
difficult to have more than three doctors at one time. Previously, when
a greater number of doctors was mentioned the plans were that the off ices
would be used by specialists who would rotate, each using the off ice for
half a day.
Mr. Carmen asked when the Foundation became involved and what promp.ted
the change for the Foundation to be the primary lessee.
Mr. Leech stated with the Foundation as the primary lessee they would have
control over the type of physician in that building and it is important
that the physician be in an organization working with them.
Mr. Feneli asked if this decision was made after Council tuxned down Mr.
Paris' variance requeste
Mr. Leech said no.
Mr. Feneli said that althongh they say it would not be feasible for the
off ice to have more than three doctors, if the Hillcrest Hospital Foundation
would be willing to limit the space to no more than three physicians at any
one time.
Mr. Leech said their plans now are to sublease the premises to three prima.ry
care physicians.
Mr. Carmen asked if either Mr. Paris or the Hillcrest Hospital Foundation was
willing to stipulate there will not be more than three doctors on that
facility at any time.
Mr. Leech explained their hesitation to commit themselves to this; if three
doctors were present and another doctor came.in and read an x-ray there would
then be four doctor5. Their intent is to have three treating, primary care
doctors and feel it would be.impractical to put that type of limitation on it.
Mr. Leech said he thought the issue was regarding suff icient parking facilities
and the number of doctors present at one time would not necessarily influence
that.
Mrs. Bloom said they refer to the space being used by three primary doctors
and asked if it would be their own private practices or an emergency care
clinic as earlier discussions had suggested.
Mr. Leech said it would not be an Emergency Care Clinic. The practice would
be similar to those doctors whose off ices are located across from Hillcrest
Hospital.
Mr. Etzler questioned if a limitation could be made that there will be no more
than three doctors seeing patients at one time.
Mr. Leech said generally, yes. The problem is that a specialist might be
seeing a patient along with the treating doctor.
