28
Mr. Busa asked Mr. Goley is he was amusing Council or reporting to it.
Mr. Goley said he was ma.king a comment as he has been allowed to do.
Mr. Busa said Mr. Goley is not too sure of what he is saying and is causing
some degree of confusion. Council and other committees, commissions and
boards have discussed this in great detail and are better versed than Mr.
Goley. If Mr. Goley wants to delay any longer he can but he will give him
two more minutes.
Mr. Goley said thank you, he will continue to make his statement as he is
permitted to by the rules of this Council.
Mr. Busa said he knows the rules of this Council, Mr. Goley has two minutes.
Mr. Goley said obviously Mr. Busa would prefer that he not speak.
Mr. Busa said he does not prefer anything, Mr. Goley has two minutes.
Mr. Goley said he had no further comments.
Mr. Busa said Council is working too and he has a limit to his patience.
Joan Pumphrey, 893 Beech Hill'Road - said on the rare occasions the Service
Department has been on their street, the last time they scraped all the
stone off, they are now down to pure mud. She said she has called the
Service Department and some Councilpeople asking for help. She feels there
will be no maintenance on Beech Hill until the people are forced into paving
the road. She said the road is so bad if it rains one would need a four
wheel vehicle to be able to get out of the.street. The street is a mess and
a disgrace to Mayfield Village and the Service Department.
Mr. Stan Cotton - Beech Hi11:R6ad.- said he lives across from Glenview so
he does not have the problem the others on Beech Hill have. He said the
Service Department has not touched the road in the last few years. He said
the neighbors child fell out of a bus seat and was in the hospital for a
few hours. He said the road will be so bad that the Police and Fire
Departments will not be able to get through. He said he has lived there for
18 years and before the present administration there was no such problem.
They scraped the road and filled it in once or twice a year and there were
no problems. He feels they are trying to prove to the residents the road
must be paved, which they have more or less come to accept, but regardless
the road cannot be left the way it is now. Something must be done. He
said they are waiting for figures on the assessment and questioned what
the road would be paved with.
Mr. Etzler said he talked to Mrs. Pumphrey on the phone yesterday. He went
to Beech Hill and agrees the road is near impassable. He feels the Village
is responsible to keep it passable.
