,? ? <br />School be used for a four-community health center. Indoor activities such <br />as racquetball, tract, tennis, and nautilus facilities would be the main <br />objective. He contacted Mr. Stabile of the School Board for his opinion to <br />this suggestion. Mr. Stabile thought it was an excellent suggestion. Mr. <br />Carmen then contacted the Mayors of the four communities in the Mayf ield <br />School District for their opinion, and all were interested in pursuing the <br />idea. Because of the large cost factor of this, he contacted State Senator <br />Lee Fisher and Congressman Feighan.to see if State or Federal funds might <br />be available. The next step would be to have an architect estimate the cost <br />for refurbishing the building. Mr. Carmen suggested a committee be established <br />to pursue the project. Members would work on the development of such a <br />project with the other communities. Mr. Carmen requested if a committee was <br />formed, that he head the committee. <br />Mr. Busa asked what the pleasure of Council was. <br />Council agreed Mr. Carmen, Mr. Etzler, and Mrs. Hanus will serve on the new <br />committee, Special Projects. <br />Senior Citizen Commission:ori:Aging.- Mrs. Mikula reported the Commission on <br />Aging is holding their First Anniversary Party Saturday, May 21 at the Service <br />Building,at 1:00 p.m. The Seniors will be going to the Horticulture Center on <br />May 25 and will receive a 10% discount on their purchases. The Horticulture <br />Center donated three plants to the Commission, which will be hung in the <br />Community Room. Thank you letters will be sent to the Horticulture Center <br />after their trip.,' <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Cleveland House of Corrections - Mr. Busa reported the matter was taken care <br />of by Ordinance 83-9. <br />Auxiliary Police Unit Presentation - This event was cancelled but will be <br />rescheduled next month. <br />Proposed Amendments to the Planning & Zoning Code - Mr. Busa asked that Council <br />determine a date they would like to reschedule a meeting to discuss this. <br />Council agreed to hold this meeting the second Monday in June (June 13) at <br />7:00 p.m. <br />Mrm Busa noted the importance of attendance at this meeting by all Council <br />members. <br />CEI - Street Lighting Tariff - Mayor Beebe said the representative from CEI <br />was unable to attend this Council Meeting but will be attending our June meeting <br />to discuss the street lighting tariff. <br />Mr. Feneli said he has contacted the Office of Consumer Counsel and has not <br />yet received a response. He will report at the June Meeting.
