135 <br />Mayor Beebe reported the winners of the Mayor's Balloon' Race held during Village <br />Days, August 7th. First place winner was Shin Lin,• second place was Rhonda <br />Scaccia, and third place was Jaime Bloom. • <br />Mayor Beebe cited several reasons why he fe.lt the Village could not keep the <br />Euclid Beach Auto Train. Mr. Etzler_has been in contact with the Crawford Auto <br />Museum and they ar.e interested in acquir.ing it. Mayor Beebe asked if Council <br />agreed .the train should be donated-to the Crawford Auto Museum: <br />Mr. Busa, seconded by Mr. Etzler, made a motion to approve the donation of the <br />Euclid Beach Auto Train to the Crawford Auto Museum. <br />Mr. Etzler said he would like to make sure a written agreement is made at the <br />time of the donation, stating the Village will be permitted t.o use the train at <br />least once a year, such as during Village Days. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None ' Motion Carried <br />' Approval Given COUNCIL PRESIDENT'S COMMENTS ' <br />Mr. Busa asked that everyone take a moment of silent prayer for Harold Rassau. <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS <br />Mr. Amendola had no comments. <br />Mr. Toth said Council was given eopies of the letter from Eloise Maynard <br />announcing her retirement as of the end of 1983.. He said an ad was placed in <br />the paper for a replacement for her. He would like to hire someone and begin <br />the training period before she leaves... <br />Mr. Toth said he designed new_time.sheets, a standard form for all departments. <br />Council will receive copies of them with an explanation. <br />Mr. Toth reported, regarding the inventory work being done, Jack will be <br />working on the inventory on weekends. They will start tagging items in October. <br />Chief Hejcl, who had gorie iaith the Rescue Squad to take P4r. Rassau to the <br />hospital; arrived at this time. He.reported Mr. Rassau is being treated now <br />at the hospital. <br />Mr. Fenel.i said he is supposed to be contacted by Mr. LaConte concerning <br />negotiations for the purchase of the Golf Course. He said, regarding the Arco <br />monies due us, he has asked Det. Sgt. Don Smith to find the person from Arco <br />as he has been unable to locate him himself. He.is also trying to get the <br />monies owed the Village for the D.I.C.E. back taxes.
