136 <br />STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />Safety Service Committee and Finance Committee - Mr. Busa said Mr. Spellman <br />is absent but there was no Safety Service Meeting and there are no minutes <br />of the Finance Meeting as such. He asked if Mr. Toth had anything to add. <br />Mr. Toth had no comment. <br />Architectural Review Board - Mr. Amendola said the meeting was cancelled due <br />to the late arrival of the drawings.. <br />Board .of Appeals - Mr. Amendola said there was no Board of Appeals Meeting <br />this month. <br />Community Room Committee - Mrs. Hanus said the financial_report prior to Village <br />Days and the Flea Market was $4,227.16. After expenses were paid for these two <br />events, the net prof it was over $3,000.00 which was turned over to the-.Finance <br />Director. She reported they received a check from Mr. Gross of the L.N. Gross <br />Company, a donation from their Beta Days sale, in the amount of $1,979.40. <br />Including the check just received from the Auxiliary Police, the balance in the <br />Community Room Fund is $9,256.56. <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils - Mrs. Bloom said they will be meeting September 28. <br />One of their projects will be the resolution of recognition for the Firefighters. <br />They will try to come up with a standard form so it will be easier for the ? <br />communities to accept. <br />Cemetery - Mr. Etzler said there was no meeting. <br />M.A.R.C.- Mr. Spellman was absent so ther e was no report. <br />Planning and Zoning - Mr. Carmen said the Commission met September 12. They <br />discussed the proposal by Julius Paris to locate a building on Beta Drive. They <br />will present the preliminary plans and this will be on the Planning and Zoning <br />Workshop Meeting Agenda for September 22nd. They also wish to report the prof it <br />from Beta Days was close to $2,000.00, similar to last year's prof it. . <br />Recreation Committee - Mrs. Bloom said this Sunday, September 25, will be the <br />Mayf ield Village 5 Mile Road Race. It begins at 8:30 a.m. on Beta Drive. <br />Commission on Aging - Mr. Busa said.he had no report. Mrs. Virginia Porter, <br />a member of the Commission has resigned. He asked what should be done about <br />replacement for her on the Commission. Mayor Beebe and Council agreed not to <br />make an appointment to the Commission at this time. They felt since it was near <br />the end of the year it would be best to wait until 1984 so the appointment would <br />be made by the new Mayor and Council. <br />Special Projects Committee- Mr. Carmen said regarding Beta Days, Mr. Gross has <br />requested to hold a similar sale at his company three to four times a year. <br />Beta Days has been held twice with no problems that he.is aware of. He feels <br />the sales benefit the Village and recommends Mr. Gross be allowed to hold sales <br />on a quarterly basis. Mr. Busa agreed to put this on future agendas for <br />discussion by Council.
