149 <br /> Community Room Committee - Mrs. Hanus reported they will be holding their <br /> annual pumpkin sale October 22 and 23 frbm 9 a.m. to dusk. Monies received <br /> will go towards the Community Room. The Turkey Raffl'e will be November 19 <br /> at 7:30 p.m. in the Community Room. Tickets are available, 5 for.$1.00, at <br /> the Village Hall or. through Cathy Schulz. Refreshments will be available at <br /> the Raffle. ' <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils - Mrs. Bloom said she.was advised that Mayfield <br />Heights passed the resolution for recognition for firefighters and she will <br />be requesting them to forward us a copy. <br />Based on information she received"from the Interchurch'Council of Greater <br />Cleveland, the need for food stamps has increased in the area. She has placed <br />a basket in the front hall of the Village Hall for non-perishable food and <br />donations. The Sub-Hunger-Center located in Lyndhurst will pick up these <br />donations for distribution in the Hillc'rest area. <br />Cemetery - Mr. Etzler said there was no report. <br />M.A.R.C. - Mr. Spellman•said there was no repor.t. <br />Planning and Zoning - Mr. Carmen said the Commission met October 3rd. They <br />discussed the proposal for the multi-occupancy building at 731 Beta Drive. <br />They will be considering this further at their workshop meeting. <br />Recreation - Mrs. Bloom said the Mayfield Village Five Mile Road Race went <br />very well. There were 140 participants and the organization in charge of <br />the race commented they received excellent cooperation from our Police and <br />Fire Departments. <br />The Halloween Party is October 29 at 5:00 p.m. at the Service Building. <br />Commission on Aging - Mr. Busa commented the Commission is doing a marvelous <br />job and asked Mrs. Mikula to report. - <br />Mrs. Mikula reported the Senior Gentry will have a Halloween Party Oc•tober 28 <br />at 7:00.p.m. in the Community.Room. A program to be presented by Sgt. Jay and <br />Chief Stevens will be held November 14. Their Christmas, Party is December 10. <br />She reported they recently went on a bus trip. Card and Garden Groups meet <br />regularly and they are looking into other projects. <br />Mr. Busa commented Mrs. Mikula's appointment expires at the end of this year. <br />He asked if Council would wish to consider her re-appointment at this time <br />for a two year term. Discussion was held. <br /> <br />Mr. Feneli said, in his opinion, it is not ethical or proper for Council to <br />make an appointment for next year. The appointment should be made by the new <br />Mayor and Council..
