151 <br /> <br />? <br />i <br />I <br />L <br />discussions pertained to the present and future number of•employees at Mayfran. <br />The addition of employees was included in the motion Council made to pass the <br />ordinance.. He suggested the mot.ion be revised or eliminated, to be based on <br />the original proposal. They would.like to work out this matter at the time of <br />the bond issue. He said he had given a copy of his suggested amendment to <br />Council before the meeting. He explained how the plant would be operated and <br />that the plant would r.equire a brief shut down to be reorganized. He said <br />Conergics would like to be a part of our community and keep their location here. <br />?Mrs. Bloom said the provision made,on the ordinance was at her suggestion. The <br />provision states that if the company has not hired 15. additional employees <br />within one year following the issue date of the bonds,.the company agrees to pay' <br />Mayfield Village $500 annually for each person less than the additional 15 not <br />hired for the duration of the bonds. She explained she did not intend this <br />provision to be the entire length of the bonds (possir.ly 30 years). She <br />suggested the agreement be amended. <br />Mr. Rivette said he would-like to defer discussion of this provision until <br />after the bonds have been acquired. <br />Mr. Feneli asked why this couldn't be solved now. <br />Mr. Rivette said they would not like to enter into an agreement with the intent <br />of making a penalty. <br />Mr. Carmen felt since the major portion of:the Village's tax dollars are <br />received from the Industrial Park, in order to ensure the business remains in <br />the Industrial Park, Cbuncil should accept their suggested amendment. <br />Discussion was held. <br />Ordinance 83-18, entitled; "AN 03.2DINANCE. AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 83-17 BY <br />REPLACING PARAGRAPH C(4)(e) OF EXHIBIT 1 AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY." <br />Introduced by Council as a Whole. <br />Mr. Carmen, seconded by Mrs. Bloom, made a motion to suspend the rules of <br />Council requiring an ordinance to be read on three sepaY'ate occasions. <br />Mr. Busa asked if there was any discussion. • There was none. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />Mr. Carmen, seconded by Mrs. B1oom, made a motion to pass Ordinance 83-18., <br />in title only. <br />Mr. Busa asked if there was any discussion.
