<br />Mr. Busa, seconded by Mr. Etzler, made a motion to pass Ordinance 82-18. <br />Roll Ca11: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Ordinance Passed <br />Ordinance 82-19, entitled; "AN ORDINANCE CREATING SECTION 521.10 OF THE <br />CODIFIED ORDINANGES OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO PROHIBITING THE SALE OF <br />TOBACCO PRODUCTS TO MINORS." Introduced by Mayor Robert G. Beebe. <br />Council President Spellman stated he would.like to bring this matter to <br />the attention of all the Hillcrest communities and asked Mayor Beebe for <br />comment. <br />Mayor Beebe explained that he recently was asked by Lawsons store if such <br />a law existed and upon checking, he was astonished to find out the law had <br />been dropped several years ago and a child.of any age could purchase <br />cigarettes. " <br />Mr. Feneli stated the law had been dropped in 1973. <br />Ordinarice 82-19 given first reading. <br />Council President Spellman asked that Mr. Busa bring up this subject to the <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils. <br />Ordinance 82-20, entitled.; "AN ORDINANCE PROVTDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF <br />$91,500 OF BONDS OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE TO PAY THE PROPERTY OWNERS' PORTION <br />IN ANTICIPATION OF THE COLLECTION OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS HERETOFORE LEVIED, <br />OF THE COST OF IMPROVING ECHO DRTVE BETWEEN CERTAIN TERMINI BY PAVING AND <br />CONSTRUCTING DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS TOGETHER WITH ALL NECESSARY APPURTENANCES <br />THERETO AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY." Introduced by Councilman.Vince J. Busa. <br />Mr. Feneli said that both he and Mrs. Ruggles were surprised to find these <br />ordinances on the agenda, stating that apparently this was something that <br />Squires, Sanders and Dempsey felt had to be done immediately and they did <br />not notify either he or Mrs. Ruggles. He asked for Mrs. Ruggles comments <br />as she had conversation with Patty Granfield. <br />Mrs. Ruggles explained this ordinance must be passed tonight as ads must <br />be placed for the sale of the bonds to ruri for three consecutive weeks. <br />She said that after bids are opened for the sale of the bonds, we will have <br />to have a Special Meeting April 12 to award the sale. She said, that after <br />the sale is awarded, three weeks must be allowed for the printing of the <br />bonds. She stated the notes are due on May 2nd. <br />Mr. Busa, seconded by Mrs. Bloom, made a motion to suspend the rules of <br />Council requiring an ordinance to be read on three separate occasions. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Rules Suspended
