O <br />n i <br />overhead doors from the old salt shed for $1,000.00 which was placed <br />in the Community Room Fund. He stated they made their recommendation <br />to Council regarding the items submitted to them by the Safety & Service <br />Committee. He read their recommendations as follows: <br />A new radio console for the Police Department <br />Repowering Fire Engine #613 <br />A typewriter and mowers for the Service Department <br />A calculator and f ire proof file for the Finance Dept. <br />Changing the 3 Auxiliary Police Officers to Part Time Officers <br />Mr. Etzler stated they also discussed the possibility of adding <br />one full time firefighter in August. <br />Mr. Etzler reported.at the March 8th meeting, the Finance Committee approved <br />the purchase of a copy machine for the Service Department. He said they <br />also decided the Village finances would be re-evaluated in June to see if <br />there should be some type of a debt reduction that would take place in July <br />or August. <br />Council President Spellman stated he has another item to be discussed in <br />reference to Finance. He stated on January 22 and February 12 he sent two <br />letters to the Finance Committee in reference to the pay ordinance. He said <br />Sections 3 through 15 of the pay ordinance still need.to be completed. He <br />said there is no mention of job descriptions and emplayee performance <br />evaluations. <br />Discussion was held, as the Finance Committee did not recall receiving the <br />letter mentioned. <br />Council President Spellman suggested these matters be discussed at the <br />next Finance Meeting. <br />Mayor Beebe stated employee evaluations do exist in some departments. He <br />clarified these records would not be located in the Finance Department as <br />they are confidential information between the employee and department head. <br />Mrs. Hanus stated she recalls job descriptions and annual records are needed <br />for certain people which are supposed to be k.ept on record. <br />Mayor Beebe stated this is being done. <br />Council President Spellman questioned the Law Director if Civil Service would <br />play a part in the creation of employee job descriptions and performance <br />evaluations. <br />Mr. Feneli stated the Civil Service Commission created the job descriptions <br />for the jobs that are under Civil Service. <br />Chief Hejcl commented that he believes Civil Service has the job descriptions <br />in their f ile.
