! 9 7 <br /> <br /> <br />Council President Spellma.n asked if Council had any comments for discussion <br />regarding this ordinance.- <br />Mrs. Hanus stated this ordinance.will have no backing from the Federal or <br />State Government and asked for Chief Stevens and Dale.Feneli's input as to <br />how the ordinance would be enforceda <br />Chief Stevens stated he was not famiTiar with the ordinance. He also stated <br />he had never received a copy of the ordinance. He said it was not practical <br />and did not see how it coul'd be enforced. <br />Mr. Feneli said he drafted the ordinance at Mayor Beebe's request as he felt <br />the local merchants would like an excuse not to sell tobacco products to <br />minors. <br />Discussion was held. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None i <br />Motion Carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />Mr. Busa, seconded by Mr. Carmen, inade a motion to pass Ordinance 82-19. <br />Council President Spellman asked if there were any further comments for <br />discussion. <br />There were none. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All . <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Ordinance Passed <br />Ordinance 82-22,.entitled; "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE RETENTION OF THE <br />PORTLAND CEMENT ASSOCIATION AS AN EXPERT WITNESS IN PENDING LITIGATION, <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY." Introduced by the Mayor and Council as a <br />Whole. First Reading was given March 15. <br />Ordinance 82-22 was.given second reading. <br />Ordinance 82-24, entitled; "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF ONE <br />(1) POLICE CRUISER FOR $9,320.20, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY." Introduced <br />by the Mayor and Council as a Whole. <br />Council President Spellma.n stated Council does not have this ordinance so <br />it will have to be passed in title. He said bids-were opened Friday at <br />noon. The only bid received was from Deacons.in the amount of $9,320.00. <br />Council President Spellma.n, seconded by Mr. Busa, made a motion to suspend <br />the.rules of Council requiring an ordinance to be read on three separate <br />occasions.
