Mr. Cotman asked what is being done to Glenview that the manhole covers
have been picked up, and whi will be paying for the work.
Mr. Amendola explained the work being done on Seneca and Glenview is being
done by the County Sewer Department. Because the manhole eovers were
concealed in the black top they could not locate the sanitary openings to
the homes. The Viliage will do the patching of the road that will be
necessary.. ?
A resident stated the last letter the Beech Hill residents received indicated
three possible options, butlthere was no mention of the amount of dollars
involved in either option. ;
Mr. Feneli.stated the above=mentioned letter was written by him. He said he
listed the options available but he was not speaking for Council. He was
not saying that Council hadIdecided those were the three options, those were
just the things open for dis'cussion.
A resident requested information as to the cost of paving, and the cost of
maintaining the road on an "'as is" basis be made available to the residents.
He said he has not seen any work done on Beech Hill since one day last year.
He mentioned there are ma.ny.people'on Beech Hil1 Road with limited incomes
that can.not afford a new paving job..
Mrs. Yager, 935'Beech'Hill'Road - said most people purchased property on Beech
Hi11 because.they liked the way it lookecl at that time. Up until 1975 the
road was serviceable. She feels the residents want to keep the road the way
it was when they purchased theirproperty.
Mr. Carmen stated this meetiing was to get input from the residents of Beech
Hill as to what they would prefer. If it means maintaining the road or paying
a maintenance cost to ma.intain it'and.keep the rustic look, he asked if that
is something the residents woulii be willing to do.
Mr. Carmen explained there are certain pressures put on Council such as they
were told if they spent morejpublic Village funds to maintain the road that
a lawsuit would be brought against them for spending public funds on a street
not accepted for maintenance.l•
Mr. Fetzer stated the idea that Beech Hill Road is a private road because it
was not accepted by the Village is debateable. He personally, does not want
to accept the responsibility for paving.
Mr. Howard Schulz, 450 S.O.M. - stated he has lived in .this.community before
any roads were paved. He stated all equipment today is heavier (police, fire,
ambulance, etc.). He.feels that because of this modern equipment it is
necessary to advance,and modernize.
Wilma Rogers - 6824 Glenviow - stated she was a resident when the roads had
just been cut also. She stated government funds (WPA) were received by the
Village for paving the roads. She said regarding the resignations of Mr.
T.hrush and Mr. Zorn, the minutes should be checked to see why they resigned.
She questioned what happened to the money for the paving of the roads.
