J_ 66 <br />PdEW BUSINESS <br />Resolution 82-46, entitled; "A RESOLUTION OPPOSING THE PASSAGE OF HOUSE BILL <br />N0. 722 PRESENTLY Pr,NDING BEFORE THE 114th GENEI?AL ASSEMBLY IN COLIJP2BUS, <br />OHIO." Introduced by Council President Michael W. Spellman. <br />Council President Spellman read the resolution explaining it is opposing the <br />minimum jail stand ards. Highland Heights recently adopted a similar resolution. <br />Chief Stevens said he concurred with the resolution and felt it was worthwhile. <br />Mayor Beebe stated this subject has been discussed at several Mayors and City <br />Managers Meetings. He said most communities have introduced similar legislation <br />and he hopes Council passes this resolution. In discussion oaith Mayor Hughes <br />of Highland Heights he learned they are building six or seven cells and there <br />is a possibility we will be routing our prisoners there, when completed.. <br />Council President Spellman, seconded by Mr. Busa, made a motion to suspend the <br />rules of Council requiring a resolution to be read on three separate occasions. <br />Council President Spellman asked if there were any comments for discussion. <br />There were none. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None riotion Carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />Mr. Busa, seconded by Council President Spellman, made a motion to.adopt <br />Resolution 82-46. <br />Council President Spellman asked if there were any comments for discussion. <br />Mrs. Bloom stated.she.felt the resolution should be introduced by the Mayor <br />and Council as a j+Thole. <br />Mr. Spellman agreed; the resolution to be changed to be introduced by the <br />Mayor and Council as a Whole. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Resolution Adopted <br />Ordinance 82-47, entitled; "AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING TRANSOHIO SAVINGS AS A <br />DEPOSITORY FOR INTERIM FUNDS OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, FOR THE TWO (2) YEAR <br />PERIOD COMMENCING JULY l, 1952, AUTHORIZING DEPOSITORY AGRELNIENTS WITH SAID <br />INSTITUTION AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY." Introduced by the Mayor and Council <br />as a tidhole.
