Iss
Mr. Busa asked Mrs. Mikula to comment on any additional data.
Mrs. Mikula said the Commission would like to have their fifth member so they
could begin formal meetings. She asked that Mayor Beebe inform her of his
appointment so she may contact them. She said they are anxious to have a
meeting and they hope to have a meeting later this month if money is available
for a mailing.
Mayor Beebe said the Commission would have a quorum with four members so a
f ifth member would not be needed to hold a meeting. He stated since money for
the Commission has been line itemed and approved by Council9 there should be
no problem in the Commission securing funds for a mailing, if an immediate
need exists. Mayor Beebe stated, as he has mentioned to Mrs. Mikula previously,
that many would like to know who are currently signed up. He asked that PZrs.
Mikula provide that informa.tion at her convenience.
Mrs. Mikula explained she does not own a typewriter so as soon as she is able
to type the list she will make copies for Mayor Beebe, the Commission Members
and Council.
Mayor Beebe stated if Mrs. Mikula would bring in her hand-written copy, he
will have his Secretary type it. He clarif ied he is just interested in knowing
the names of the Mayfield Village residents who signed up at the "Get Acquainted"
Evening for Senior Citizens.
Mrs. Mikula said the Commission on Aging is expecting to.hold their f irst
actual meeting next week.
Mayor Beebe asked how the meeting will be announced to the residents.
Mrs. Mikula said since they did not receive funds last weelc for a mailing,
perhaps they will be able to send postcards.
Mayor Beebe suggested an announcement could go along with the Voice of the
Village mailing which will be hand-delivered to all residents around the
first of July.
Mrs. Mikula said the Commission had promised several residents who qualified
(by being 60 and over) to be members of the Commission, that there would be
a meeting in June. She will check with the members to see what they want to
do about the June meeting, if they wish to forego it, it is up to them.
OLD BUSINESS
Beecher's Brook Drive
Council President Spellman stated this is in reference to the Beechers i3rook
Drive situation. A letter was sent to the residents on Beecher's Brook Drive
on rfay 12th describing the situation and inviting those interested to attend
tonight's Council meeting. He stated rir.
