<br />Beta Days Committee - Mr. Carmen reported that after some hesitation on the <br />part of some members of the Planning & Zoning Commission, it was agreed upon <br />to hold a retail sales weekend, known as "Beta Days" for the companies located <br />on Beta Drive. Mr. Gross of Bradley Knitwear will send invitations to the <br />other merchants'and letters to the residents of the Village advising them of <br />the Friday evening sale for village residents only. <br />Community Room - Council President Spellman stated they are discussing the <br />pos.sibility of additional funds. He reported that Village Days was very <br />successful and the Salt Shed Committee had done a superb job. <br />Firemen's Dependents Fund - Mr. Flynn'stated there was no report. <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils - Mr. Busa stated there was no report. <br />Cemetery - Mr. Busa stated there was no report. <br />M.A.R.C. - Council President Spellman reported that no meetings are scheduled <br />for the summer months. <br />Planning & Zoning Commission - Mr. Carmen said that the Planning & Zoning <br />Commission wished to recommend to Council the granting.of a variance to the <br />, Progressive Casualty Insurance Company, 6671 Beta Drive, from the off-street <br />parking requirements of Section 1173-07 of the Codif ied Ordinances of Mayfield <br />' Village, Ohio, so that there is.one (1) parking space for each two hundred (200) <br />square feet of off ice space, which offiee space shall not exceed forty-two <br />thousand (42,000) square feet, and so that there is not less than one (1) <br />parking space for each employee for the balance of the building,.regardless of <br />its use. <br />After discussion, Mr. Carmen, seconded by Mr. Busa, made a motion to grant the <br />parking variance to the Progressive Insurance Company. <br />Ro11 Ca11: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Motion Granted <br />Recreation - Council President Spellman stated that the Recreation Committee <br />will meet this Wednesday. . <br />Senior Citizens Commission on Aging - Mr. Busa announced that the Commission <br />on Aging will hold a party at Wiley Park on August 19, at 6:00 p.m. He <br />understands that a chairman for the commission will be elected at the next <br />meeting. . <br />When asked for further comments, Mrs. Mikula had none. <br />Council went into Executive Session at 8:25 p.m.. <br />Council reconvened at 9:07 p.m.
