e11
Mr. Carmen stated the Community Room Committee, should be involved in the
process of rule ma.ki.ng, but feels everyone who wants.a say in the making
of the rules should be involved. Council is not putting up the money for
the building, it is the taxpayers money. He said there is strength in
numbers, the more ideas presented, the better the f inal proposal would be.
Council President Spellman stated the floor is closed to the audience.
Mr. Carmen made a motion that a Rules Committee be.established, to basically
consist of the Community Room Committee and any others who want to serve on
the committee.
Mrs. Hanus said she does not know why Council can't act as a Rules Committee.
Mr. Etzler said the Community Room Committee could get together with others
who ma.y be interested. Their final decisions would be ref.erred to Council
so that would be all we would need.
Council President Spellman stated the Committee, in essense, already exists.
Mr. Etzler said as long as there is an understanding that the rules are needed
by the f irst of the year wheriever the building is open, that should be gdod
enough.
Council agreed there was no need for a Rules Committee.
Mr._Carmen withdrew his motion.
Mr.. Busa stated now Council knows they should begin preparing the rules and
regulations for the Community.Room, and the Committees can also begin discussion.
Mayor Beebe stated copies of the ordinances from the three communities citing
their Community Room rules will be given to various committees within the next
few days.
Street Striping Equipment to be Sold
Mayor Beebe said before a piece_of Village equipment.is disposed of, by
ordinance, Council must approve the item to be sold. Two bids came in for
the old street striping machine, one from Pucel Industries for.$200.00 and
one from a Village employee for $220.00.
Discussion was held.
Mr. Etzler stated it was his opinion that the equipment was worth more than
the bids received and therefore the bids should be rejected. New bids should
be solicited. • Mr. Busa suggested adverti'sing in the Trading Times as a fee is only paid upon
sale of the merchandise.
