I? <br />?? . ?. <br />Mr. Hovancsek commented the Sewer District acknowledged the fact they have <br />had failures on maintenance in the past. They are planning a preventative <br />maintenance program, they are purchasing spare parts for necessary repairs <br />to the system. They are planning monthly checks on their monitoring system. <br />They are planning a number of.things that were not done in the past and <br />which should show major improvement. It will be seen at the next meeting <br />how what was proposed today will be implemented. <br />Mr. Amendola said they have had a stand-by diesel generator there for years. <br />Apparently it has not functioned properly. It will be repaired and will be <br />operating shortly. Then, if we have a power failure the station will not be <br />down. <br />Mr. Flynn asked what kind of device they will be using to let them know of an <br />overf low. <br />Mr. Hovancsek explained the system. They will be improving their signal system <br />and will be monitoring it intermittently. <br />Mr. Feneli said they promised that on an average of once a month over the next <br />year they will have someone simulate an overflow here at various times during <br />the day and night to see how long it takes their Easterly plant to respond. <br />They will be educating the people at the Easterly plant to make sure they know <br />what to do in the event of an overflow. <br />Mrs. Hanus said that was.one of the'biggest problems, to educate the Easterly <br />plant on what to do if they get an emergency call because apparently they <br />were doing nothing about it before. <br />Beech Hill/Beecher's Brook.'Paviftg'Assessments <br />Council President Spellman stated he is waiting for the second part or follow <br />up to Mr. Feneli's letter, explaining the procedure to be followed,for <br />assessment. <br />Mr. Feneli said he would prepare the letter.for Friday. <br />Rules for Community Room <br />Council President Spellman stated.that various groups in the Village have <br />been sent copies of the Salt Shed Committees proposal and we are waiting for <br />their recommendations. <br />Senior Citizen's Account <br />Council President Spellman stated everyone received a copy of the letter from <br />Mr. Toth explaining that legislation is not necessary. He said he has spoken <br />to several members of the Senior Citizens Commission and they are very much in <br />favor of having their own treasurer and their own.account. He said as long as <br />Mr. Toth and Mr. Feneli get together on this and verify there is no need for <br />legislation he said he would relay that information to Mr. Busa.
