Senior Citizeri:Commissioft'ot:Aging.- Mr. Busa said the Commission's,Christmas Party was very successful'with 90 people present.. The Committee ;aishes to express their thanks to Mayor Beebe for the pictures he took of the party. OLD BUSINESS Ordinance 82-84, entitled; "AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 123.02 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES." Introduced by Council as a.Whole. Council President Spellman asked if Council wanted this ordinance to remain tabled or r.eturn it to discussion. Mr. Busa, seconded by Council President Spellman, made a motion to remove Ordinance 82-84 from being tabled. Roll Call: AYES: Messrs., Busa, Etzler; Flynn, Spellman, and Mrs. Hanus NAYS: Mr. Carmen Motion Carried Ordinance no longer tabled Mr. Busa, seconded by Council President Spellman, made a motion to pass Ordinance 82-84. Mr. Etzler, seconded by Mr. Carmen, ma.de a motion to amend OrdinarLce 82-84 as suggested by the Finance Committee, changing the proposed limit of $750 to $2,500 of appropriated money and $2,500.00 of unappropriated money. Mr. Etzler commented the Finance Committee felt the $750.00'limit would put burden on the Department Heads, the Mayor and residents. He gave several examples of how $750.00 would not cover ma.ny emergency situations. They felt Council has apgroved certain appropriations already, there is no need for their approval again. ' Mayor Beebe commented he did not understand why the ordinance came about. Mr. Etzler said the ordinance was not directed.in any way or form at Mayor Beebe, but.at the Mayorts Office. Council President Spellman requested the authorized limit of purchases in other communities reports from Mrs. Ruggles and Mrs. Bloom be attached to these minutes. Roll Call: AYES: Messrs., Carmen, EC.zler, Flynn NAYS: Messrs.; Busa, Spellman, Mrs. Hanus Due to the tie vote, Mayor Beebe was asked for his vote. Mayor Beebe voted AYE.
