The Committee ;aishes to <br /> express their thanks to Mayor Beebe for the pictures he took of the party. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> Ordinance 82-84, entitled; "AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 123.02 OF <br /> THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES." Introduced by Council as a.Whole. <br /> Council President Spellman asked if Council wanted this ordinance to remain <br /> tabled or r.eturn it to discussion. <br />Mr. Busa, seconded by Council President Spellman, made a motion to remove <br />Ordinance 82-84 from being tabled. <br />Roll Call: AYES: Messrs., Busa, Etzler; Flynn, Spellman, and Mrs. Hanus <br />NAYS: Mr. Carmen <br /> <br />Motion Carried <br />Ordinance no longer tabled <br />Mr. Busa, seconded by Council President Spellman, made a motion to pass <br />Ordinance 82-84. <br />Mr. Etzler, seconded by Mr. Carmen, ma.de a motion to amend OrdinarLce 82-84 as <br />suggested by the Finance Committee, changing the proposed limit of $750 to <br />$2,500 of appropriated money and $2,500.00 of unappropriated money. <br />Mr. Etzler commented the Finance Committee felt the $750.00'limit would put <br />burden on the Department Heads, the Mayor and residents. He gave several <br />examples of how $750.00 would not cover ma.ny emergency situations. They felt <br />Council has apgroved certain appropriations already, there is no need for <br />their approval again. ' <br />Mayor Beebe commented he did not understand why the ordinance came about. <br />Mr. Etzler said the ordinance was not directed.in any way or form at Mayor <br />Beebe, but.at the Mayorts Office. <br />Council President Spellman requested the authorized limit of purchases in <br />other communities reports from Mrs. Ruggles and Mrs. Bloom be attached to <br />these minutes. <br />Roll Call: AYES: Messrs., Carmen, EC.zler, Flynn <br />NAYS: Messrs.; Busa, Spellman, Mrs. Hanus <br />Due to the tie vote, Mayor Beebe was asked for his vote. <br />Mayor Beebe voted AYE.
