5?<. ` <br />COMMENTS FROM COUNCIL PRESIDENT ETZLER <br />Mr. Etzler said he would like to amend the agenda to include Ordinanc.e <br />No. 85-14. <br />Mr. Etzler said the Village submitted a Block Grant request to the Federal <br />Government hoping they will provide a substantial portion of the money <br />needed toward the develop of the park (where the old Arco property is) <br />over three years. Mr. Etzler said the first project they have in mind is <br />a parking lot. <br />Mr. Etzler said that this is rirs.. Bloom's last Council meeting and expressed <br />Council's sadness that she is leaving. He said Chief Stevens has a <br />presentation to make and turned the floor over to him. <br />On behalf of the Police Departmen, Chief Stevens made two presentations to <br />Mrs. Bloom: <br />1) A Plaque in recognition of the outstanding contributions <br />she's made to the Police Department and tothe Village, as <br />the organizer of Child Safety Day '85. ' <br />2) A Citizen°s Award which will be given to anyone who contributes <br />to the safety of children in the future, entitled; the <br />"Rochelle M. Bloom Child Safety Award". He presented the first <br />such award to Mrs. Bloom. <br />Mr. Etzler concluded that Mrs. Bloom would be greatly missed by all Council <br />members. <br />COMMENTS FROM MAYOR CARMEN <br />Mayor Carmen said he has seen many people come and go in the last six years <br />but none that he will miss so much as Shelly. <br />STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />Architectural Review Board - Mr. Amendola said they met May 23 and approved <br />two sets of plans for a new single family dwelling and two sets of plans for <br />new office const'ruction. <br />Board of Appeals - Mr. Amendola said there was no req'uirement for a meeting <br />this month. <br />Cemetery - Mr. Goley said that a meeting was held May 25 at the Mayfield <br />Union Cemetery. Several items were discussed: <br />1) Mayfield Heights is eoming into the Village to remove rubbish <br />from tlie cemetery. Would the Village be able to make arrange- <br />ments:with our rubbish hauler to remove the rubbish at the <br />cemetery? <br />2) Is it possible to waive the lighting assessment charged to the <br />cemetery annually?
