<br />Mr. Flynn, seconded by Mr. Basile, made a motion to accept the Mayor's <br />appointment of Ralph T?L.rsitano to the Civil Service Commission. <br />Roll Call: AYES: Al1 Motion Carried <br />NAYS: None <br />Appointment Confirmed <br />Mayor Carmen said at the last Citizen's Advisory Committee it was suggested <br />that a Council representative be apponted to the Committee in order that <br />if the Mayor was unable to attend there would always be a representative from, <br />the legislative body in attendance at their meetings. <br />Mr. Etzler said they will dicuss ttiis matter at the next Caucus. <br />COMMENTS FROM COUNCIL PRESIDEDIT ETZLER <br />Mr. Etzler stated there. will be a short Executive Session following tonights <br />meetimg. <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS <br />There were no comments, <br />STANDING COMr1ITTEE REPORTS <br />Mayor Carmen said Mr. Amendola had advised him that he would not be present <br />tonight. because he was ill. <br />Therefore, there were no reports for the Architectural Review Board and the <br />Board of Appeals. <br />Cemetery - Mr. Goley said that he reported to their trustee our agreement to <br />waive the street lighting assessment at the Mayfield Union Cemetery. Mr. <br />Goley said he. would like to check with our rubbish company to see what <br />arrangements could be made for them to pick up rubbish at the cemetery. <br />Commission on Aging - Mr. Etzler noted upcoming events: Picnic in the Park, <br />June 24, Travelogue on June 30. They will have a craft table at Village Days, <br />they are again coordina:ting with the Counb.y for f1u shots, and are planning <br />a bus trip at the end of August. <br />Finance - Mr. Flynn reported a meeting was held earlier this evening. He <br />was elected Chairman. The Committee recommends approval by Council of the <br />1986 budget, and the resolutions to Love Insurance. <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils & M.A.R.C. - Tliere were no reports. <br />Planning & Zoning - Mr. Basile said there was no report at this time. <br />Safety & Service - Mr. Basile said they met June 17 with Chief Stevens. <br />Cheif Stevens requested guidelines of what items should be directed tothe <br />Committee and what should be directed.to the Mavor. He asked that ,the,?- <br />. . <br />,pos;?t;ion-:.. of?.lieut_enan:t_.be .:c:r.eated-;:and?r.equest:ed.. th-e 'acldition-of::threez_=oifficers. <br />One officer would be to replace Dave Wheatcroft. He also asked that a new <br />test be administered for hiring police officers.He has not received responses <br />to his requested from March, and said many of his purchase requisitions were <br />denied. He is still requesting additional space in the Police Department and <br />for gas masks for officers, <br /> <br /> <br />
