17 <br />Board of Appeals - Mr. Amendola said there was no requirement for a meeting <br />last month. <br />Commission on Aging - Mr. Etzler reported Y.hey met February 13. Ra1ph Weiss <br />was elected Chairman, Howard Schulz, Vice Chairman; Shiela Hanus and Frances <br />Kneier, Secretary. He noted some of the upcoming events. <br />Finance - Mrs. Bloom repor.ted the Finance Committee met Februazy 6. She was <br />elected Chairman and Mr. Flynn was elected Secretary. Finance met again this <br />evening and the 1984 budget was discussed. Department Heads wi.11 be notified <br />when a meeting date to discuss the budget is established. The Committee <br />also discussed R.I.T.A. collections and community room funds. There is <br />currently a$9,000 balance in the Community Room Account. To start the new <br />phase.of work in the community room, Mr. Amendola has estimated $5,000 would <br />be necessary. She asked if Council would consider the approval of this <br />expenditure so the first phase could be started. <br />Mayor Carmen said Mr. Amendola has combined Phase T and Phase II at a cost of <br />$5,200. <br />Mr.s. Bloom asked if the $5,200 for Phase I and II could be considered. <br />Mr. Etzler stated this topic appears later on the agenda and should be considered <br />at that time. <br />Firemen's Dependents Fund - Mr. Flynn .reported there will be an Organizational <br />Meeting of the Firemen's Dependents Fund on March 20 at 7:30 p.m. The <br />Firemen's Dependents Fund consists of two Council members, two members of the <br />Fire Department, and one citizen representative. <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils - Mrs. Bloom reported the election of officers <br />- took place at the last meeting. The next meeting is Wednesday, February 22 <br />in the Mayfield Heights Community Center. <br />M.A.R.C. - Mr. Goley said he was unable to attend the January M.A.R.C. meeting <br />as he had just received the committee appointment. <br />Planning & Zoning - Mr. Basile reported the Commission met February 6. They <br />considered and rejected the Golden Goat variance request. He noted other <br />items of discussion. (See P& Z minutes of Feb. 6.) A Workshop meeting will <br />be held Thursday, February 23. <br />Safety & Service - Mr. Basile said they held their first meeting earlier this <br />evening. He was elected Chairman and Mr. Goley was elected Secretary. They <br />worked on prioritizing Department Head requests. <br />Recreation - Mrs. Bloom said Recreation met February 15. Softball registration <br />will be March 28, 7- 9 p.m. in the Community Room. She noted the other <br />coming events. <br />
