98 <br />MAYOR'S COMMENTS <br />Mayor Carmen commended the Historical Society for their Quilts and Quaints <br />Show, which was held this weekend. It was a fabulous show that.was well-attended, <br />well publicized, and beneficial to the community. There were over 140 quilts <br />displayed. <br />COUNCIL PRESIDENT'S COMNNIENTS <br />Mr. Etzler said he would like to amend tonight's agenda to include Ordinances <br />84-10, 84-12, and 84-13. Council received the minutes from the Planning and <br />Zoning Commission Friday, which recommended passage of these ordinances. <br />Mr. Etzler announced there will be a short Executive Session after tonight.'s <br />meeting. <br />CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES <br />Regular Meeting of Council - September 17, 1984, Mrs. Bloom, seconded by Mr. <br />Basile, made a motion to approve the minutes. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Minutes Approved <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD REFORTS <br />Acting Chief Posatiere said at this time the Fire Department is down to one <br />main fire engine; if there is a fire we will have to call for mutual aid. <br />To date, the Fire Department has received 101 calls over the complete total <br />for 1983. He asked if Council has made a firm decision regarding refurbishing <br />the pumper, or if the purchase of a new pumper was st3.11 being considered. <br />Mr. Etzler said Council decided, at a meeting last week, to repower,the 1968 <br />pumper. They will probably make a decision within the next week.or so as to <br />exactly what avenue to take. <br />There were no other Department Head reports. <br />STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />Architectural Review Board - Mr. Amendola said the Board met September 20. <br />They approved drawings for a new office building at 6449 Wilson Mills, and <br />a screened porch addition at 6937 Ravine Drive. (See A.R.B. Sept., 20 minutes <br />for notations.) <br />Board of Appeals - Mr. Amendola said there was no need for a meeting this month. <br />Commission on Aging - Mr. Etzler said the Medical Emergency Information Program <br />is proving quite successful. There will be a Christmas Boutique on November 10. <br />Contributions for the bake sale at-the boutique would be appreciatedo All <br />proceeds will go to the community room. They will announce the Christmas <br />Party date at-the next meeting. There will be a travelogue on Morocco on I <br />October 25. Flu shots will be given November 2 from 12:30 to 3:30 for all <br />seniors and those who are chronically ill. Registration will be required.
