33 <br />Regular Council Meeting <br />4/18/88 <br />Page 3 <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS <br />Chief Mohr reported that the Fire Department will be conducting a training <br />exercise on April 30 at the old Patterson house on S.O.M. Center Road. He <br />said that they received permission from the E.P.A. to burn the hou:?e. <br />STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />Architectural Review Board - Mr. Amendola said that the Board met and passed <br />on 5 single-family dwellings, a swimming pool, a shed, fences, a deck, three <br />room additions and a trash container. <br />Board of Appeals - Mr. Amendola said there was no requirement for a meeting. <br />Cemetery - Mrs. Cinco said there was no report. <br />Citizen's Advisory Committee - Mr. Basile said the Committee met February <br />22. He cited many of the items discussed at the meeting. (see 2/22 CAC <br />min.) <br />Commission on Aging - Mrs. Cinco veported that the Commission on Aging met <br />last Thursdayo Their Anniversary Party will be held on May 14 and they are <br />planning a special Pizza Party for May 17. They are looking into various <br />bus tours for the summers <br />Finance - Mr. Flynn said that the committee met at 7:15 this evening. He <br />said they reviewed various items including legislation pertaining to the <br />Police Professional Liability Insurance. Mr. Flynn said the committee <br />recommends that we get a letter from Mr. Sutton stating specifically that <br />this particular policy and this particular company cover every facet of the <br />police professional liability insurance. Mr. Flynn said the committee also <br />reviewed the legislatiori pertaining to filing an application for land and <br />water conservation funds. They would like to discuss this at Caucus to see <br />what tlie ramifications are for private property. The Finance Committee also <br />discussed the legislation retaining Dale Feneli as legal counsel. They had <br />a number of questions on that and they would like to refer that to Caucus <br />also. Mre Flynn said that the committee reviewed the legislation pertaining <br />to the compensation for the Law Director and requests that that be put on <br />hold temporarily. Mr. Flynn said that everybody is aware of the conditions <br />regarding the leg'islation for the Prosecutor and said that the committee <br />recommends Council go ahead with the ordinances f or the Finance Director and <br />Engineer. He said they discussed the traffic signal at Beta and S.O.M. <br />Mr. Flynn said the Finance Committee discussed comments from Larry Barrett <br />concerning hospitalization and are requesting new information from another <br />broker. He said we are going on a per month basis as f ar as paying the new <br />rate. He said they must get further information on the balance of the <br />Burgess and Niple study and the 1988 budget figures before they can make an <br />intelligent recommendation on the continuing drainage problem funding and <br />any fiirther monies spente Hillcrest Council-of-Councils - Mr. Santoro said there was no report. <br />M.A.R.C. - Mr. Petschauer said there was no report.
