34.
Regular Council Meeting
4/18/88
Page 4
Planning and Zoning - Mr. Basile said the Commission met on April 4.
They discussed the Progressive drive relocation proposal. The problem with
the homeowners at that time was that the plan showed no trees in the buffer
zone. The buffer zone had been rerouted and only one of the houses
purchased by Progressive had been put up for sale. Mr. Basile read from the
minutes of that meeting (see P&Z min of 4/4/88.) Mr. Basile said there
will be a Planning and Zoning Workshop meeting in April.
Recreation - Mr. Santoro said the Easter Party was a success. He said that
they are planning to install new bleachers before softball season begins.
Safety and Service - Mrs. Mills said there was no report.
OLD BUSINESS Pesticide Ordinance - OPARR Correso - Mr. Basile said that we have received
a letter from Ohio Pesticide Applicators for Responsible Regulation
pertaining to the pesticide legislation recently enacted.
Mayor Carmen said that this group has questions about our ordinance which he
has referred to the Village legal counsel for his opinion and response.
Bike- Patfi -Guard Rail - Mayor Carmen said that the Safety and Service and
Finance Committees need to look at that issue.
Berms on S.O.M. at Bike Path - Mayor Carmen said that Mre Hovancsek is
talking about the installation of limestone at this point and is in the
process of getting bids on what the cost would be.
Mr. Amendola said he had figures to give to Mayor Carmen for both limestone
and a larger aggregate that might be more attractive than limestone.
Spaghetti Company- Additions - Mr. Feneli said that Council should have
received in their packet a copy of the letter he sent to the Spaghetti
Company copying Mr. Musca and his attorney.
Enhanced 9-1-1 - Mayor Carmen said that the last time we had spoken about it
we all agreed that we wanted to do Enhanced 9-1-1. He explained what the
Enhanced 9-1-1 system does. He said initially we were concerned because of
the cost figures to install thisa Since we began talking the prices have
gone down. Chief Stevens and Chief Mohr have checked available suppliers.
We have come up with a lease-purchase plan for 9-1-1 whereby it appears that
for somewhere under $10,000 on a yearly basis we will be able to lease the
Enhanced 9-1-1 equipment and ultimately buy out the system at the end of
five or six years for a f airly nominal fee. Mayor Carmen said that it now
appears that were are going to go ahead and get Enhanced 9-1-1 to make it a
safer service for the community. He said that he had received some
information f rom Chief Mohr that he has not gotten a chance to look at, but
it looks like.it is the lease application for the 9-1-1 service. So,
hopefully, very soon we will be on line.
Ridgebury Culvert Mr. Basile said Mr. Hovancsek said the contractor is
starting at 8 a.m. tomorrow morning.
