64 <br />Regular Council Meeting <br />6/20/88 <br />Page 4 <br />Linda-Iafelice, 6707 Wildwood Trail - said she has observed cars going onto <br />the bike path to beat out the cars in the turnout lane. She said she is <br />concerned about the child on the bike path that the driver of the car going <br />onto the bike path might not see. She said she did not care what kind of <br />barrier was put up but there was no way to justify the loss of one human <br />life in that areae Mrs. Iafelice said that something that must be done and <br />asked that that be•taken into consideration. <br />Betty Klang - said she would like an appointment with Mayor Carmen now. She <br />said she has waited six months and wants to make the appointment.now. <br />Mayor Carmen said that as he had advised Mrs. Klang after their last several <br />unpleasant telephone conversations that he would be happy to speak with her <br />when they were at a point where they could speak civilly. He said if <br />they"re at that point he would be happy to make an appointment with her. <br />Mrs. Klang said she would like to make it. <br />Mayor Carmen asked if she wou•ld be remaining until the end of the meeting. <br />Mrs. Klang said yes. <br />Mayor Carmen said he would have Donna set up a time. <br />A1 Scaccia, S.O.M. Center Road - said that everybody talks about the bike <br />path. He said he was here before it went in and advised Council of the <br />problems that would occur. Now they are talking guardrails. He said they <br />should be there when something happens that the firemen and policemen need <br />to get there--then they should think about the guardrails. He said the <br />other night at Don Ray Products vehicles had to go into the dip and back <br />onto the roadway. He said they can't just look at the area on a Wednesday <br />morning, <br />Mayor Carmen said part of what we are talking about now is putting limestone <br />in the area which would enable cars to have a place to pull off the road. <br />He said we are all concerned about providing services for the residents and <br />safety for the safety forces. <br />Mr. Scaccia said that 90% of the people using the bike path are not <br />residents. He asked when S.O.M. would be widened. <br />Mayor Carmen said that before the bike path was built they had contacted the <br />State. He said that the State advised us that they felt any widening of the <br />road was probably 10-15 years away. <br />CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES <br />Regular Meeting of Council = May-16;-1988 - Mr. Flynn, seconded by Mr. <br />Basile, made a motion to approve the minutes. <br />Roll Call: AYES: Al1 <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Mi.nutes Approved
