<br /> <br /> <br />Regular Council Meeting <br />9/26/88 <br />Page 5 <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />No Parking Signs at Fisher's Tavern - Mayor Carmen said that we had started <br />negotiations with Fisher's Tavern but have not heard from them in a while. He <br />said that he thinks we should do it not specifically for them but rather as <br />part of our posting no parking sign program.. He said they are still parking <br />in front and it is very hazardous. Mayor Carmen asked Chief Stevens if that <br />could be done by the next meeting so he could report back and requested that <br />the item be left on the agenda. <br />Employee Health Insurance - Mr. Basile said that the employees are not too <br />happy about the plan Mr. Marrie proposed. <br />Mayor Carmen said he thinks the problem is that the plan Kevin proposed was <br />not an "apples to apples" comparison to our current plan. He said it is his <br />feeling that unless there is another plan that provides coverage which is as <br />good as the coverage we now.have that we stay with the plan we have. He asked <br />for the consensus of Council. <br />Al1 members of .C.ouncil expressed agreement to thisa <br />Mayor Carmen asked Miss Heath to contact Kevin Marrie to let him know that <br />unless he can come up with a plan that provides the same coverage for a <br />significantly lower price, that we have decided to stay with the plan we have. <br />Aintree North Drainage - Mayor Carmen noted the many things the Village has <br />done to allow the Aintree North group to get the channel cut. He said that he <br />was assured by Mr. Caticchio that once.they were given the rights of entry to <br />all of the properties including the Buzdon's property that they would cut the <br />channel and do the work that they had been promising to do for two years. <br />Mayor ._Carmen.. said that.the Village had written a letter to Mr. Caticchio <br />stating that we would make them the agents of the Village so they could go <br />ahead and do the work. He said that when they were last contacted by Mr. <br />Ramos that they had indicated that they were having some second thoughts <br />because of the cost of the project and that they weren't sure they were going <br />to do the work at all. He said that the residents have indicated to him that <br />they are contemplating a private lawsuit if nothing is done. <br />Mr. Ramos said that he received a letter from Mr. Caticchio today which said <br />that he will be getting back to us in two weeks to determine what Aintree <br />North's fair share was according to law and what they are responsible for. <br />Spaghetti Company Addition - Mayor Carmen said that a deadline of September 30 <br />was set.. He said.that he would need to talk to.Mr. Amendola about it but that <br />they were told that they would be cited if they continued to park their truck <br />out front. Mayor Carmen asked that Miss Heath leave a note for Mr. Amendola <br />about citing them and.to send.a.copy of..the citation to Council. <br />Assistant Service Director - Mayor Carmen said that he is running into <br />roadblocks with the Director of the Civil Service Commission. He said that he <br />has taken the position that the Service Director has not given the Civil <br />Service Commission an adequate job description of the Assistant Service <br />Director in order to enable them to determine if Jim Amendola should be <br />appointed to that position non-competitively.
