137 <br />Regular Council Meeting <br />10/17/88 <br />Page 9 <br /> Village Plaza Occupancy - Mr. Ramos said that we are going to have a <br /> little trouble with thi s. He said that Mr. Norton insists upon our <br /> giving him an occupancy permit for another re tail store. If he does <br /> do that he will be over the limits set by P&Z as well as Council. He <br /> said if Council wishes to change that, they can. He said that Mr. <br /> Norton was either going to file a lawsuit now or later. He said that <br /> he told him to do what he has to do. <br />Mayor Carmen said that at the last meeting with Mr. Musca that Mr. <br />Musca recognized that he had a problem. He said that Mr. Musca had <br />stated that he wanted to wait until the center was up and running to <br />see whether or not he needed additional spaces or whether there were <br />additional spaces available. Mayor Carmen said that we told him that <br />we would be very reasonable at that point because we would have some <br />history. He said that if there were extra parking spaces, he told <br />him that we would not be unreasonable in granting a variance. <br />Discussion was held. <br />Mayor Carmen said that he thinks the message that Mr. Ramos should <br />take to Mr. Norton is that we will not get bit twice. <br />Hieh Band FreQUencv Police Communication System - Mrs. Mills said <br />that we are waiting to receive the bids. <br />Pesticide Ordinance - Mr. Basile said that he called Senator Fisher's <br />office and that he is supposed to call him back. <br />Mayor Carmen said that they are trying to determine (and he thinks <br />it's up to the Law Director to determine) whether or not our <br />pesticide ordinance is enforcable in light of other legislation that <br />exists. He asked that Mr. Ramos wrote a memo to Council. If the <br />ordinance is not enforcable, we will get it off our books. <br />Mr. Ramos said that Council will have it by the next Council Caucus. <br />Fence at Service Building & Historical House - Mr. Amendola said that <br />the bids were given out to have the fence installed. <br />Historical Society Fund Raising - Mrs. Mills said that the Mayfield <br />Township Historical Society had requested $2,500 from each of the <br />four.municipalities it encompasses (Gates Mills, Mayfield Heights, <br />Highland Heights and Mayfield Village). She said that a meeting was <br />held on October 13 and that the minutes of the meeting will be <br />included in Council's packet. Mrs. Mills said that a representative <br />from each community had attended this meeting. <br />Mrs. Cinco said that at the meeting they were made aware of where <br />they stand and what they plan to do. She said that financial <br />statements will be forthcoming. She said that a suggestion was made <br />that even if all communities didn't go that we would do this on an <br />individual basis. <br />Mr. Petschauer requested a copy of a list of active members of the
