?5 65
Regular Council Meeting
11/21/88
Page 12
Mrs. Martin said that the permit fee has not been established and that it was
Mr. Amendola's intent not to have charge for the permit. She asked if
consideration should also be given to the charge for a temporary sign permit
(as for political signs.)
Mayor Carmen said that this was two separate issues. The orie that exists is
appropriate for temporary signs because in order to receive the $1.50 refund
residents must show that they have removed all signs. He said that regarding
the garage sale permit, we are just trying to monitor who is having garage
sales, how many, and when.
Roll Call: AYES: Al1
NAYS: None Motion Carried
Ordinance Enacted
First Reading of Ordinance No. 88-43, entitled; "AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING
FUNDS FOR CURRENT EXPENSES & EXPENDITURES OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, FOR THE
PERIOD FROM 01/01/88 AND ENDING 12/31/88, REPEALING EXISTING ORDINANCE N0.
88-16 AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY." Introduced by Mayor Carmen and the Entire
Council.
Mr. Flynn, seconded by Mr. Basile, made a motion to suspend the rules of
Council requiring an ordinance to be read on three separate occasions.
Roll Call: AYES: Al1
NAYS: None Motion Carried
Rules Suspended
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Santoro, made a motion to enact Ordinance No.
88-43.
Roll Call: AYES: Al1
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Ordinance Enacted
ANY OTHER MATTER THAT MAY COME BEFORE COUNCIL
Mr. Santoro asked Mr. Hovancsek what the timetable for completion of the
roadwork was.
Mr. Hovancsek said that their extension for completion expires December 8. He
said that the work is just about done except a little more paving in the
median area, and a couple of driveways, plus the sidewalk. He expects that
weather permitting, it will all be completed this week. He said that they had
indicated that it should be done before December lst and it should be done.
He said that sodding may not take place until Spring. Mr. Hovancsek said that
the traffic signalization is about 807 complete and they were confident that
it would be completed on schedule.
Mr. Rinker asked if Progessive would be doing anymore grading work this year.
He said that the area is unsightly and he doesn't expect that they will be
able to do the fall plantings they had hoped to. If there is a timetable, he
would like to know.
