Regular Council Meeting
11/21/88
Page 7
Mayor Carmen said that we had received a letter of resignation from Sergeant
Charles Litman stating that his last day would be November 26. He said that
Chief Stevens had requested that the new man be put on in advance of that date
so that we could train him and that's what was done. Mayor Carmen said that
Ron Penn is aboard now and will be ready to go.
Mayor Carmen said that Sergeant Litman has been with the Village 29+ years and
requested that a Resolution of Appreciation be prepared for him. He said that
a promotional examination will have to be scheduled for the position of
Sergeant and that he would discuss this with Chief Stevens on Wednesday.
Beech Hill Pump Station - Mr. Basile said that he had received a phone call
from someone who advised him that the pump station had overflowed again.
Mayor Carmen asked Mr. Hovancsek when the next quarterly meeting was
scheduled.
Mr. Hovancsek said that the next meeting is about a month and a half away.
Mayor Carmen asked Mr. Hovancsek to arrange a meeting as soon as possible to
discuss the overflow problem.
Clean Up at Burned Home - Mr. Basile asked if anything was being done about
cleaning up the site where the home was burned for the practice fire.
Firefighter Neyman said that the Fire Department was under the impression that
the owner would be cleaning up the property.
Mayor Carmen asked Mr. Neyman to find out what was actually discussed and to
have Chief Mohr report to him on Wednesday so that action could be taken.
Clean Up b_y Occupant at 586 SOM Center - Mrs. Martin said that on October 25 a
letter was sent advising the resident that we would appreciate his efforts in
cleaning up his property. Another inspection was made recently and the same
debris is still there. She said that we have asked for his cooperation but
that she would rather not send a citation letter until Mr. Amendola returns
because he has to enforce it.
Mayor Carmen said that he understands that he has to enforce it but that in
Gus's absence the Village can't grind to a halt. We need to send another
letter and if we don't receive a respanse within the seven days that Jim
Amendola will have to enforce it.
Water/Sewer Problem at 578 Timberline Trail - Mrs. Martin said that she
believed an easement was to be considered regarding this problem.
Mr. Hovancsek said that he has not received a copy of the easement from the
attorney for the developer.
Mrs. Martin said that Mr. Krivanek had indicated that Mr. Caticchio was
preparing an easement.
