166 <br />Regular Council Meeting <br />12/19/88 <br />Page 2 <br />Mr. Amendola said that the Service Department keeps the bike path clear <br />of debris but they do not remove snow from it. <br />Mr. Basile to discuss this matter with Mayor Carmen. <br />Mr. Basile said that he received a phone call regarding all-terrain <br />vehicles. He said that he also received a petition signed by about 20 <br />Hickory Hill residents that would like to have an ordinance passed <br />banning them. He said that he will forward the information to the Law <br />Director to see if we can't ban them. <br />Chief Stevens said that presently there is nothing they can do about <br />the all-terrain vehicles unless they are on public raods. He said that <br />if it is a noise disturbance that may be another matter. He will look <br />into this. <br />Mr. Ramos to have something regarding this by the January 16 Council <br />Caucus. <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS <br />Mr. Amendola said that the Service Department has been using ice bits <br />on the streets that the Engineering Department told them not to apply <br />rock salt on. He said that it seems to be very effective and has made <br />safer conditions. <br />Mr. Petschauer asked if that material could pose a problem with the <br />sewers since it is not biodegradable. <br />Mr. Amendola said that the streets will be swept in the spring and that <br />that cannot be determined until spring. <br />Mr. Amendola said that he had a discussion with the contractor who is <br />plowing drives of the residents over 55 years of age. He feels that <br />the problems that had occurred have been resolved and that they should <br />do a better job when they plow during the next snow. He said that the <br />contractor has agreed that they will advise the Police Department when <br />they begin plowing in the Village. <br />STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />Architectural Review Board - Mr. Amendola reported that the Board <br />approved two single-family residences, a dish antenna for Holiday Inn, <br />and a porch addition at their last meeting. <br />Board of Appeals - Mr. Amendola said they were not required to meet. <br />Cemetery - Mrs. Cinco said there was no report. <br />Commission on Aging - Mrs. Cinco said the Christmas Party was held on <br />Saturday. <br />
