Mr. Basile will
contact Mayor Carmen to see what he wants done.
Beech Hill Pump Station Overflow - Mr. Wolszynek stated that Mr.
Hovancsek had sent a letter to Mr. Odeal of the Northeast Ohio Regional
Sewer District. He said that a meeting with Lester Stumpe, Mr.
Hovancsek, and Mayor Carmen has been scheduled for January 11 at 9:15
a.m. at the Village Hall to discuss this matter.
Mr. Flynn said that when the wet wells overflow at Beech Hill it puts
100 proof raw sewage into the creek. Since the Federal government
seems to want to do away with the gravity system, we are locked into
the pumping station and we will continue to have these problems. He
said that we need the Ohio EPA to come in when the sewage is being
thrown into our rivers and streams. Mr. Flynn said that we should let
Mr. Odeal know that we will stay on this until we get something done.
Mr. Basile said that a resident had contacted him stating that he was
going to keep a log of the overflows.
Mr. Petschauer said that until we replace the system we will have
problems.
Mr. Flynn asked Mr. Ramos to investigate suing the Northeast Ohio
Regional Sewer District.
Water/Sewer Problem at 578 Timberline Trail - Mr. Ramos stated that a
resolution accepting the easement has been included on the agenda.
Mr. Amendola reported that he had met with Mayor Carmen and Mr.
Krivanek last week. He said that he met with the contractor on site
this morning and explained what work would be done.
Mr. Basile asked if Village funds were being spent to do this work.
Mayor Carmen arrived at this time (8:40 p.m.)
Mayor Carmen explained that Village funds would be used to do the
engineering work. Then, based upon the determination as to whether it
is a Village function or a resident function we will make a
recommendation to go forward.
Mr. Basile asked Mayor Carmen for his comments regarding the
Delineators for the Bicycle Path.
Mayor Carmen said that someone in the Finance Department is going to
check with the State to see if any additional funds are available to do
a guardrail as opposed to delineators. He said that metal guard rails
were undesirable because they were ugly. Mayor Carmen recommended
that this matter be referred to the Safety and Service Committee and to
the Finance Committee for discussion regarding the safest way to
address this problem and what kind of funds are available to do the
work.
