Mayor Carmen explained the new policy that has been implemented:_regarding similar problems. He explained the Executive Order states that a letter is sent asking that the matter be corrected, seven days later a.follow-up letter is delivered personally. If the problem is not corrected seven days after that, then we cite the resident. Mr. Tomas, 6712 Hickory Hi11 Drive, sa.id there is a terrible swamp odor in the area near his home. A lenghy discussion was held.. Mr. Amendola explained the problem is created from a drainage swale which has been in existence for years. Mr. Hovancsek also explanined why the problem exists. He said when this matter was brought up.last year, he had bids taken;.I. Bids raere received for $13,000-$14,000. Mr. Basile said he submitted the information to the affected residents but has not received a reply from them yet; they were to contact the other _: residents affected. Mr. Flynn asked the Law Director and the Engineer to. get things together to see if the Village could take action on this matter. Mayor Carmen said he will look into the,matter and report on it at the next Council Meeting.
