71 <br />Judge Robert Gro.gan, 480 Oakton Circle - said he attended the last Council <br />meeting and brought.up a problem.with the cracks in the roads in his <br />neighborhood. The very next day the Service Department repaired the worst <br />cracks in the roads on the north side, but did.not do the south side <br />between Woodbine and Oakton. Mayor Carmen administered <br />the oath of office to them. <br />Mayor Carmen said he wo.uld like to add an item under new business to <br />the agenda; a resolution vacating.an easement. <br />Mr. Etzler said,if there were no objections that item would be added to <br />the agenda. There were no objections. <br />Mayor Carmen read a Proclamation proclaiming June 15-21 National Safety- <br />in the Workplace Week. <br />Mayor Carmen said :that over the weekend resident Harold Rassau passed away. <br />He was active with the Police Department and a Village Days Committee <br />member. He said Mr. Rassau was always there to help us. Ma,y.or Carmen <br />asked for a moment of silence. He asked Mr. Feneli to prepare a resolution <br />of appreciation for Mr. Rassau for all of his various contributions to <br />Mayfield Village. Mayor Carmen said many people probably have gotten a copy of The:Voice <br />of the Residents. He said it is interesting that it is called "The Voice <br />of the Residents: since no one has signed it; except the Residents Who <br />Really Care Committee. He said when this type of yellow journalism <br />generally is received in Mayfield Village, it is unsigned. He does not <br />want to dignify most of the ridiculous statementAesponding to them.
