143 <br />9/29/86 <br />Page.13 <br />Mr. Haffey asked if there was some way, through a vote by the <br />community.possibly, that it couldn"t be built. <br />Mayor Carmen said a vote of the community could not be utilized <br />because they made the application under a then-existing law. <br />Mr. Strnad asked what could be done to prevent someone from <br />having a business in their home. He said that in several years <br />the home could be sold and feels with a building this size, <br />you"re encouraging this to happen. <br />Mayor Carmen said there is no way to prevent this, the only way <br />we can do anything is when someone tells us a problem exists. <br />A resident in the audience asked if the Law Director has checked <br />with the Title Bureau or registrations to see how many cars this <br />man really owns. <br />Mr. Feneli said he has two cars. <br />The man asked what if the resident stored other peoples cars <br />and charged them rent. <br />Mayor Carmen said that once we learn a business is being <br />operated, we will shut it down. <br />Mr. Dindia said, how come they're not here, their son is here <br />and he's not talking; ancl we'd like to hear from them. Why <br />didn"t they come? <br />Mayor Carmen said he i.s welcome to speak if he"d like to,, but he <br />is under no obligation to speak. <br />Mr. Dindia said to let Mr. Bargar talk, he's the man on the <br />other side. <br />Mayor Carmen said he hasn't asked to speak yet. <br />Mr. Klang said the.A.R..B. is going to have a meeting which is <br />open to the public, they would like more. than a 24-hour notice <br />of that meeting, to be notified at least a week in advance. <br />Mayor Carmen asked Mr. Amendola when the next regularly <br />scheduled A.R.B. Meetinq was. <br />Mr. Amendola said the next A.R.B. Meeting is October 23 at 7:30 <br />p.m. <br />1
