154 <br />Safety and Service - Mr. Basile said the .Committee met October 8. <br />Discussion.was held regarding the non-sprinkling of the Jefferson and <br />Transcon buildings. They also discussed the point-of-sale ordinance. <br />They received an updated report on obtairiing a squad. Discussion was <br />held regarding t.he administration of Civi1 Service exams. Mayor Carmen <br />is requested to ask Mayor DeJohn of Mayf ield Heights to cooperate in <br />the Regional Planning cf:emergency mutual aid. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Hickcry Hi11 Sanitary Sewer (Zupanic) - Mr. Feneli reported that he has <br />obtained title documents from Continental Title Agency. Mr. Feneli said <br />that he an2. Mr. Hovancsek have now verified that the Village has a sewer <br />easement across the rear 20 feet of Mr. Zupanic's property. Mr. Feneli <br />said he informed Mr. Zupanic of this by Zetter. He also informed him <br />that the Village would, as a courtesy, notify him in advance of the date <br />thE:y intend to go on the property. <br />Mr.. Hovancsek said he attended a meeting in the Mayor's Office this morning <br />with two of the prbperty owners. They said that they wou"ld like to get <br />some competitive prices themselves. Mr. Hovancsek suggested to them that <br />they would have to put their money in some type of an escrow account. When <br />the work gets started, it is not going to be handled by the Village, it is <br />their own personal job. Mr. Hovancsek said he will prepare a 1ega1 <br />description for an easement for the next Council Meeting, which will have <br />to be passed. He explained the procedure. The project should be done this <br />winter without any problem. <br />Discussion was held on whether or not the Village woul.d be able to turn <br />their easement over to the individual prcperty owners. <br />Mr. Feneli will eheck into that question. Mayor Carmen, Mr. Feneli, and Mr. <br />Hovancsek will work together to be sure that the Village is protected. <br />Hanus Drainage - Mr. Feneli said he has been unable to conCact Mrs. Strunk's <br />daughter by phone and is unable to report any progress on this subject. <br />Mayor Carmen suggested Mr. Feneli send a ietter to Kay Oker (Mrs. Strunk's <br />daughter.) <br />Front Row Traff ic Problem - Mayor Carmen said he is in the process of <br />scheduling a. meeting with another interested party and hopes to have a <br />report by the next Caucus. • <br />Mr. Etzler said he was approached by Mayor E.ughes (of Highland Heights) after <br />our Iast Council Meeting concerning this problem. Mr. Etzler said Mayor <br />Hughes expressed disappointment regarding a quote by Mr. Etzler in the Sun <br />Messenger. He questioned why Mr. Etzler had never come to any meetings. <br />Mr. Etzler said Council was specifically requested not to attend Highland <br />Heights Council Meetings by Maycr Hughes. Mr. Etzler said Mayor.Hughes has <br />now invited Council to attend a meeting to. discuss these problems.' Mr. <br />Etzler said maybe we can schedule that in the near future. <br />Mayor Carmen said he and his secretary have been trying to schecule a <br />meeting with Mayor Hughes and the concerned party for quite some t.ime, <br />with no 1uck.
