155 <br />Repairs - LaFrance Pumper - Chief Hejc1 said he received one quote for the <br />- body work aad a new cab -$52,301. The other quote to make repairs (body <br />work) -$25,973. Chief Hejc1 said he wi11 be receiving another quote. <br />Mr. Etzler said these are basically budget figures that we are talking aboLt; <br />this would have to be bid out: <br />Mr. Etzler asked about the tank repair. • <br />Chief H.ejc1 said it had been fixed: <br />Mr. Go1ey said the Safety/Service Committee saw the tank while it was apart. <br />He wou3:d like to thank Ken Shrefl.er for a fantastic repair job. <br />P:urahase of New Squad - Mayor Carmen said we are waiting for a con:mitment <br />1etCer from Gates.Mills. As soon as we receive that.letter, we wi11 go ahead. <br />Mr. Goley asked if that letter wot:ld satisfy the ordinance. <br />Mayor Carmen explained the conditions in the oreinance,.which the: 1.etter <br />shculd satisfy. <br />Third Reading of Ordinarice No. 86-7, entitled; "AN ORDINANCE ENACTING SECTION <br />521.I0 OF THE CODIFIED.ORDINANCES OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, PERTAINING TO <br />CLEAN INDOOR AIR AND REPEALING ALL ORDINAIVCES INCONSISTENT.HEREWITH." <br />Introduced by Councilmen David:Petschauer, George F'.. Go1ey, and_Santo Basile. <br />(First Reading 5/19%86, Second Reading 5/22/86.) '. <br />Mr. Go1ey, seconded by Mr. Petschauer, made a motion to enact Or:dinance <br />No. 86-7. <br />Mr. Goley said a great.deal of work has been done to put this ordinance irito a <br />form that is acceptable not only to Mayf ield Village, but by tlie peopl:e it <br />affects. Mr. Goley said he would 1.ilie to thank everyone whose efforts were <br />put forth.regardi:ng-this ordinance, including.Councilmen and Mayor Carmen <br />who 5pent many hours in special-meetings to achieve the final.ordinance. <br />Mr. Petschauer said severa"1 months ago, Mr. Basile, Mr. Go1ey, himself, and <br />several residents comprised a committee. They provided a. series of public <br />meetings at:_which a1i concerned individuals had the opportunity.to provide <br />inFut. As a result of this input, he thinks the ordinance has been amended <br />and modified significantly so that it_is something we can a1.1 li.ve with. <br />Mayor Carmen said he thinks Mr.PeCSChauer is being modest since it was his <br />legislation originally. He said Mr. Petschauer brought it along beautifully. <br />MayoY.Carmen said he thi.nks this legislation shows the way government can <br />work at its best.
