82 <br />Regular Council Meering <br />5/21/90 <br />Page 4 <br />Mr. Pietrafese said that Mr. Ross showed the members a new injury-reducing ball that collapses on r-. <br />impact. They are planning a"Grandparents Day" for June 27 or 28. The race will be held <br />somerime in the fall; no date has been set. The Board held a dinner at Fazios. Mr. Pietrafese said - <br />that 30 children have signed up for the summer playground program. Mr. Pietrafese asked if the <br />pool could be utilized as part of the playground program. <br />Mrs. Cinco said that he should talk to Mary Grootegood at the School Board office. <br />Safetv and Service - Mrs. Cinco said they discussed the equipment needed for the Service <br />Department and asked if it had gone out for bids. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Architectural Workshon - May 24 8 p.m. Village Hall - Mrs. Mills reported that this is the next date <br />set to discuss the municipal center. It will be held after the Architectural Review Board meering. <br />Arbor Dav Ceremonv - Mrs. Mills said that everyone worked hard on it and it was a success. <br />Pancake Breakfast - Mayor Carmen said that two other pancake breakfasts were held that same day. Despite that fact, we served over 1,000 people and received many positive comments about <br />the breakfast. He expressed special thanks to Gus Amendola and his crew and to Sandy and Marie <br />Basile, to Donna and the Village Hall staff and to everyone who helped or came to eat. <br />Lighting Bid - Wilev Park June 1- Mrs. Mills said that bids will be opened June lst. <br />Golf Course Acquisirion Meerings May 8, Mav 17 - Mrs. Mills said the next meeting will be held • ? <br />June 5 at 7:30 p.m. At this time, she said, we would like to have Council's permission for Mr. <br />Ramos to write a formal letter to Mr. LaConte and family regarding the acquisirion of the golf <br />course. <br />Mr. Pietrafese asked if he could include in that letter for them to have an appraisal done. <br />Mrs. Mills said they will not be ready for that unril they talk to Mr. LaConte; they do not know <br />what their ideas are. Mr. Hovancsek presented information and maps at the last meeting. Mrs. <br />Mills said the committee members have been excellent and that Mr. Pietrafese attained maps from <br />the title company. Mrs. Mills will call Mr. Ramos about what to say in the letter. <br />Highland Road Ditching Work start - Terra Construction - Mr. Hovancsek said that he contacted <br />the contractor but due to the wet weather they do not have a starting date yet. He hopes to get the <br />date this week. <br />Fisher's Tavern - Mr. Ramos sgid that pursuant to Council's instrucrion he called Dale Feneli and, <br />said that Council wants some type of acrion taken against Fisher's Tavern. Dale Feneli sent a letter <br />to Fisher's Tavern asking them to respond by May 11. <br />Mayor Cannen suggested that since Mr. Ramos is knowledgeable about this case now that he <br />handle it and asked that he write a letter to Mr. Feneli to explain their reasoning. ` <br />Mr. Ferrante asked what the next step was.
