<br />Regular Council Meeting <br />1/23/89 <br />Page 8 <br />Mr. Ramos asked who would be introducing the following <br />legislation. Mayor Carmen and Council determined Ordinances 89-3, <br />89-4, and 89-5 would be introduced by Mayor Carmen and <br />Councilmembers Basile, Cinco, Flynn, Mills, Rinker, and Santoro. <br />First Reading of Ordinance No. 89-3, entitled; "AN ORDINANCE <br />INCREASING THE COMPENSATION OF THE COUNCIL, SUBMITTING TO THE <br />ELECTORATE FOR APPROVAL, PROVIDING FOR ALL NECESSARY PROCEDURES IN <br />CONNECTION THEREWITH AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY." Introduced by <br />Mayor Carmen and Councilmembers Basile, Cinco, Flynn, Mills, <br />Rinker, and Santoro. <br />Mr. Basile, seconded by Mr. Flynn, made a motion to suspend the <br />rules of Council requiring an ordinance to be read on three <br />separate occasions. <br />Roll Call: AYES: Mr. Basile, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Flynn, Mrs. Mills, <br />Mr. Rinker, and Mr. Santoro <br />NAYS: Mr. Petschauer Motion Carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />Mr. Ramos explained that Council had before them a new ordinance <br />89-3 and read the new ballot language. <br />Mr. Rinker asked if reference to the last time that Council <br />received a raise should be included in the legislation. <br />Mr. Ramos said he was trying to simplify the legislation but could <br />possibly add reference to that in a whereas clause if Council <br />wished. He asked Council•'s opinion. Mr. Flynn said if they are interested in that information that <br />they can call the Village Hall or the Clerk of Council. <br />Mr. Santoro, seconded by Mr. Basile, made a motion to enact <br />Ordinance No. 89-3. <br />There were no other comments. <br />Roll Call: AYES: Mr. Basile, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Flynn, Mrs. Mills, <br />Mr. Rinker, and Mr. Santoro <br />NAYS: Mr. Petschauer Motion Carried <br />Ordinance Enacted <br />First Reading of Ordinance No. 89-4, entitled; "'AN ORDINANCE <br />SUBMITTING TO THE ELECTORATE OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, A PROPOSED <br />AMENDMENT TO THE CHARTER OF THE VILLAGE ALLOWING ADDITIONAL <br />COMPENSATION FOR THE PRESIDENT OF COUNCIL, PROVIDING FOR ALL <br />NECESSARY PROCEDURES IN CONNECTION HEREWITH AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY." Introduced by Mayor Carmen and Councilmembers <br />Basile, Cinco, Flynn, Mills, Rinker, and Santoro. <br /> <br /> <br />
