A4,-
Special Council Meeting
2/27/89
Page 4
Mr. Ramos said that is one thing that could be considered.
Mrs. Mills asked Mr. Ramos to explain what we expect them to do.
Mr. Ramos said that he will have to go over everything with the Village
Engineer before he is able to tell Council what steps they should be
taking.
Mr. Gleisser, in the audience, said that Mayfield Village is a victim
of these problems because they did not get the interceptor sewer. He
said that the EPA said they would save ten million dollars by not
putting the interceptor in this area. He said if they had, this kind
of thing would not happen. He said it Wi1i cost far more dollars in
the long run. He suggested this issue be taken to the President of the
United States.
Mr. Petschauer suggested that copies of the legislation be sent to the
Senators and that Mayor Carmen and Council meet with them to discuss
their concerns relative to this issue. He feels the Village also needs
to get the media and residents involved.
Discussion was held.
Mr. Ramos said that we will be contacting other communities to see if
they would be willing to go along with it. He said that it might be
possible for the legal expenses to be.shared between those communities.
Roll Call: AYES: Al1
NAYS: None Motion Carried
Resolution Adopted
First Reading of Ordinance No. 89-9, entitled; "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING
SECTION 131.05(c) OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO,
RE-ESTABLISHING THE COMPENSATION OF HUMAN SERVICES DIRECTOR, REPEALING
ALL ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT HEREWITH AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY."
Introduced by Mayor Carmen and the Entire Council.
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Basile, made a motion to suspend the rules
of Council requiring an ordinance to be read on three separate
occasions.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Rules Suspended

Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Basile, made a motion to enact Ordinance
No. 89-9.
