<br /> <br /> <br />Regular Council Meeting <br />4/17/89 <br />Page 13 <br />,First Reading of Resolution No. 89-27, entitled; "A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING <br />APRIL, 1989 AS FAIR HOUSING MONTH AND AFFIRMING AND SUPPORTING THE <br />CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS OF ALL CITIZENS TO LIVE WHERE THEY CHOOSE." <br />Introduced by Mayor Carmen and the Entire Council. <br />Mr. Ramos said that Council only needed to make a motion to pass this <br />resolution. <br />Mr. Rinker, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to adopt Resolution No. <br />89-27. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Resolution Adopted <br />Mr. Flynn, seconded by Mr. Basile, made a motion to amend the agenda to <br />include Resolution No. 89-28. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Agenda Amended <br />Resolution No. 89-28, entitled; "A RESOLUTION URGING THE FEDERAL AND STATE <br />OFFICIALS TO INVESTIGATE THE PROPRIETY OF THE RECENT INCREASES IN GASOLINE <br />PRICES." Introduced by Mayor Carmen as a Whole. <br />Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Basile, made a motion to adopt Resolution No. <br />89-28. <br />Mr. Flynn said that he would like the Clerk of Council to send copies of <br />this resolution .to the Federal government and to see if she can get the <br />names of the Presidents of all the major oil companies to send them copies <br />of the legislation also. He will give her a list after the meeting. <br />CLOSING COMMENTS <br />Mr. Rinker asked if we could get a timetable or something more specific <br />from Progressive. <br />Mayor Carmen suggested that Mr. Rinker call them directly to find out. <br />Mayor Carmen said he would like to compliment the Finance Committee for <br />the tremendous job they are doing. He said that a great deal of action <br />has been instigated in committees this year. <br />Mr. Ramos reminded everyone of the 9 amendments to the Planning and Zoning <br />code, the two charter amendments, and the salary issues for Mayor and <br />Council that will be on the May 2 primary election ballot. He said the <br />Village encourages all residents to vote and to find out as much about <br />these issues so they can.make an informed decision.
