<br />Regular Council Meeting <br />4/17/89 <br />Page 3 <br />COMMENTS FROM MAYOR CARMEN <br />Mayor Carmen said that pre-sale tickets for the Mother's Day Pancake <br />Breakfast are on sale now. He said that a sign-up sheet for volunteers <br />has been circulated. Mayor Carmen said a study was completed regarding <br />facsimile machines. The machine would be used by all departments. He <br />asked if the agenda could be amended to included the approval (by motion) <br />of up to $4,500 for the purchase of a facsimile machine. <br />COMMENTS FROM COUNCIL PRESIDENT BASILE <br />Mr. Basile had no comments. <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS <br />There were no reports. <br />STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />Architectural Review Board - Mr. Amendola said the Board met March 23. <br />Several additions were approved, a patio enclosure, and exterior <br />remodeling at the Holiday Inn. They also met on April 13. Two single- <br />family additions and a detached garage were approved. (See A.R.B. minutes <br />of 3/23 and 4/13 for details.) <br />Board of Appeals - Mr. Amendola said that a meeting has been scheduled for <br />April 25. <br />Cemetery - Mrs. Cinco said there was no report. <br />Commission on Aging - Mrs. Mills said that an Anniversary Party will be <br />held in June. <br />Finance - Mr. Flynn said the Committee met this evening. They recommend <br />passage of the following: Resolution No. 89-22, (contract for rides for <br />Village Days), Ordinance No. 89-25--he asked if we will get any rebate on <br />this. Mayor Carmen said we expect to have it underwritten. The Finance <br />Committee discussed special legal fees incurred in 1988, a fax machine, <br />and they recommend that Burgess and Niple come to the next Caucus. (see <br />4/17/89 Financ/e Committee Meeting minutes.) <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils - Mrs. Cinco said there was no report. <br />Historical Society - Mrs. Cinco said the pencil drive started April lst. <br />Their goal is $5,000; $3,000 was turned so far. The folowing work has <br />been done: electricity, storm sewer, sump pump, water, and gas. They <br />will be obtaining additional heating prices from Adams for a boiler and <br />also hope to start work on the plumbing this year. Mrs. Cinco urged all <br />Council members to pass the resolution supporting the pencil drive. <br />Mrs. Mills asked if Mr. Plastine had anything additional to report.
